Pretty sure bombers do 0.0001 damage in multiplayer now

A squad of about 10 bombers were circling an undefended cluster of mass extractors for like an hour and didn't kill them.... just sayin.

I am sure that they don't, in my latest AI match the AI sent 5 bombers (basic ones) to my metal field and destroyed every extractor in one shot.

why do you specifically mention it as Multiplayer? There isn't a singleplayer.

The problem is that bombers need to be flying straight to drop a bomb. But unfortunately their flight behaviour isn't intelligent enough yet to compensate for this, so they just turn way too fast and they won't be flying straight, and thus don't fire a bomb.

Don't they also use energy when they drop bombs? if you're energy stalling, then i don't think your bombers can actually attack anything.

Feel free to call me on this if I'm incorrect though.

I presume so yes, but I haven't been able to test it much. Energy stalling is the least of my concerns in a game.

Under their health bars, bombers have these little greay bars, which deplete when they attack, and then slowly recharge, I'm assuming it's some sort of energy charge indicator.

It looks a lot like they are attacking and missing, so I am inclined to believe the straight line theory. Expected behavior is that the bombers should be able to manage picking and hitting a target directly automatically when they are on patrol.

I mentioned multiplayer because it seems as though the bombers are effective in the hands of the AI player, who may possibly be controlling them differently, "cheating", etc.

I've noticed if I send a bomber to attack something stationary it will typically attack it with one payload and then circle it indefinitely. They turn too soon and do not get a proper run setup (they need to be going straight)

I'm sure this will be fixed eventually, for now you need to set up manual waypoints to make sure they go out far enough

The AI issues an attack ground command at the moment, rather than directly attacking a target. This will change once the neural nets go in.

How long until the AI will hack it's own game?
