Wanted to share some performance notes After load, first game startup with a 2 planet custom system and AI : About 7 minutes to start position. Some laggy but usable in game (for a beta) Second game in same instance: Pretty unusable. huge lag. zooming problems. wouldn't exit. Force killed game. Are you starting game from Steam? If yes, try to download non-Steam version: https://store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4 And check if it's have better performance.
Just out of curiosity why would steam cause this problem wont the manual download be the same as the steam download?
For me the graphics don't show at all when I start a game. The screen is completely black and only the resource bar and the player names are visible. And I'm not running the steam version.
They are not the same, unfortunately. Steam version have Steamworks SDK linked and on Windows it's just kills performance of many people and make loading time 50 times longer. I have completely no idea why it's happen, but this is fact and probably this as well affect OS X users.
