Planetary Annihilation keys bought at PAX do not show up in "My keys"

So a friend of mine went to PAX and came back with a couple of keys for Planetary Annihilation. We are able to play the game just fine using the keys and logging into Ubernet via the PA client.

However, I was looking to convert my key into the steam version, and I found that url-I'm-not-allowed-to-post/Account/MyKeys has zero entries, even though I associated the key with my account and use it to log into the game.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, if I'm just completely misunderstanding something, or if my friend got scammed in some way. He assures me he bought them from Uber directly at the convention, and still has the cards with the codes on them.
