    Question for the sake of academic curiousity;

    How much metal (as a percentage) is recovered from reclaiming?

    This is a good question.

    I can't give you specific numbers, but I think it depends on how much damage the unit/structure took over its health. For instance, if you kill a unit and don't do any additional damage you get 'full' reclaim. If you get it to 1hp and then the last hit is for a high damage unit, say a Leveller, you will get 'partial' reclaim.

    Don't quote me on any of this, but that is what I've understood from dev discussions.

    But what's the Initial amount? if it's 100% there could be problems.

    Given the current low number of metal deposits, I'd be interested in seeing a very high percentage (FA levels).

    For land units, the default is 50%:
    "reckage_health_frac": 0.5,

    Some specific units override this:
    • Skitter - 100%
    • Flux (Amphibious Tank) - 100% (not buildable)
    • Leveler - 100%
    • Ant - 100%

    That seems like a fairly odd set of exceptions.....

    If this is gonna end up being anything like Supcom, which I think it will, this number is gonna end up being based upon ...

    1) What the carcass IS (t1 unit ... t3 unit ...) and how much its worth.

    2) How damaged the carcass is. (through Ground fire or enemy reclamation)

    SupCom (all of them) were fixed percentage, and damage amount. At no point did it care about tech-level.

    Still, I'd love to see 80% ala. FA again - it'd certainly mean nobody can complain about not enough metal any more.

    WRONG. Tech level in FA always depended in how much it transferred to currency. Reclaiming a T1 factory was a lot less than reclaiming a T3 factory.

    Reclaiming T3 'wrecks' were MUCH more valuable than reclaiming a t1 wreck.

    It COST MORE TO BUILD A T 3 THAN IT DID A T 1 or 2 ... there is simply more metal in in! .... 'HP' if you will!

    Please stand corrected.

    I don't think you understand how percentages work.

    1 and 100 have always been a safe set of numbers for me to work with my friend.

    Another reason why I think the devs should keep this baby close to the Legacy of Forged Allience.

    That is the community which is left alive and wanting.

    That is the community that Uber have to please with this game in order for them to make a LOT of money

    And did I say a LOT? I mean they will have the most recent successful RTS of its time!

    It will become a model and a milestone for ALL RTS' in its period, full stop end off.

    @MeetYourMaker, FA's wreckages amounted to 80% of the unit's mass value. The tech level didn't matter, although naturally higher tech units typically cost (far) more than lower tech ones. PA uses the same system, but it's currently set to 50%.
