So, I did a quick search on the forum, and either I'm turrible at searches, or there isn't much on this subject. That, or I'm in the totally wrong place, but there doesn't be much on the way of places to be, so I apologize if everyone's heard this before, and whatnot. I also am not 100% sure if the devs have come to a conclusion on mini maps or not, but on the off chance, I'd hope to put my sticker in the fire. More or less, what I was thinking is that you have a small window.... somewhere on the screen, and it acts as a camera only, so you can't command units using it or anything, just look at it. The way it'd work, is that any planet you currently have some sort of active vision on, will appear as a tab on top of your window that you can select, and it will display a small version of that planet that you can rotate around, and check for unit blips. You'd be able to zoom in and out, and look at more specific points, but it wouldn't give as detailed information as your normal game window, it would be more of a, "Gee, I have a bunch of x colored blips moving towards mine," and allow you to keep tabs on what might be going on at one planet, while you're at another. A simple tool, to help the player out, without basically allowing him to run two campaigns at once super easily. Is the idea super revolutionary? No, lol. But, I haven't heard much in the way about what's in the works, so I figured I'd throw it out there, to make sure. Thoughts?
I have not heard about it, but it sounds exactly like what I'm saying, so my two cents have been in vain! But thanks for letting me know, because I hadn't heard much, and it was bothering me. You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.
the Devs (I think was Mavor) said that they would no implement an Mini-Map, when you have the Strat Zoom well if was an Mini-Map to travel your camera across planets, I think that would be a great idea AST- asteroid
