I successfully use the System Builder to build and save a system (which I then played on). I then reopened the System Builder, but stupidly didn't allow the System to reload properly. In an attempt to exit, (as the exit button wasn't working) I also clicked save. Now my System Manager is toast. I cant make or save any new systems, and I cant reload/edit my old one. The System Manager page now looks like the image attached (none of the buttons work). Any help? Also, I've tried to log this as a bug but couldn't log into the bug tracker! Got in now.
I thought I had the solution, but now I have the same problem Edit: I triggered the bug by naming a system "<!--". I then renamed C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\localstore to ~localstore, and that wiped all my saves etc. which fixed it again. But I then noticed it wasn't re-creating the folder, so I wanted to make sure it would correctly save things still. So I went into the system editor, saved the system (default name), and then I get the same problem. However I now have no idea where it is being saved.
Hi I also broke the system manager, but is it because of a specific reason it breaks or is their something wrong with the name it's saved with? (I named my system "Test")
I've been able to make a system in the system editor and play in that system with minor issues. I named mine "Ambitious" because of the number of planets... anyway... Slightly off topic, but does anybody know what the "Build" button in the system editor does? It just seems to load forever and I eventually had to force close PA because the back button wasn't working. I was still able to play the system though. Also my system said "experimental" when I selected it to play on, even though none of the planets were experimental. Does that have something to do with the build button maybe?
When you place a planet, it doesn't generate it then and there - only when that planets' preview button is pressed. The build button generates all planets placed that have yet to be generated.
Ah hah! I had seen that once in the office. You have provided a potential repro to the corruption occuring in the local store. We shall get this fixed!
Well that's odd, since I pressed the build button only AFTER generating the preview and clicking save for each planet in the system (thus making them look like planets, and not green and blue dots).
Try deleting the following folders to fix the issue, if present: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\ and Planetary Annihilation\PA\media\user
