I'm sure this has been asked, but I can't find a straight answer anywhere... Question: Will getting a steam key prevent me from downloading and playing PA separately from steam (when I want)? Explanation: I want PA DRM free. I like steam and would like PA access through steam if possible (Easier to set up games with friends, etc.) but I also want to be able to install PA on some of my computers and invite people over for a lan party, etc. (this was a key promise of the kickstarter for me).

No, you can connect it with Steam and after that you can still play it without Steam just starting the PA-launcher (You have to start it once with Steam and finished the linking of the two accounts)
Nope it's won't prevent you as long as Steam account linked with your UberNet account. As I understand converting game to Steam can limit you somehow, but not in this way. When you convert key to Steam it's not DRM free anymore and technically you're not Uber client. It's mean if you for example get banned in Steam you won't able to access game though UberNet anymore.
