Let's all go and get drunk together some time between the third and seventh of October.

Do you pay for plane tickets as well?

Haha, no. This is more targeted at people in the UK who can just get a train down for a day.

Aaah, but trains down to London are SO long and expensive. No chance of it being more centralised UK?

My plane and train tickets cost me just over £100($150). Though I am going to see a friend - I'm not just coming over for a SMNC meetup.

I'm also a poor student, and trains are bloody espensive.
£104 each way from Dundee to Kings Cross - and that's arriving at 1am, and that's not factoring the return trip, and accommodation.

Damn, why are planes so much cheaper than a train?

that's more or less true in the US too. You take a train from one coast to the other, it takes several days, and is around the same price.

But still - £100 each way?

I can get a return ticket to Dublin(100 miles away) for £10.
