This is wonderful, and my responsibility entirely. I've come home from school to find out that the BETA has been released, I downloaded the game and hopped into a match and luckily enough, my whole PC froze... for the 3rd time so far. I've tried re-downloading the game and it just crashes whenever I join a match. My specs are not to worry for as my PC is relatively medium-high end. Please tell me I am not the only one out there who is having this problem?
This is an interim build of the beta, and as such it is highly buggy, they put it out slightly early to fix some major crashes before the "real" beta.
Consider posting a DXdiag anyways, it might help solve your problem i've seen alot of posts concerning issues with Fullscreen, try windowed mode. also, if you have a multi-gpu system, turn off crossfire / sli on your graphics card,
The game isent anywhere near completely optimized yet, so some systems are bound to have difficulties. I know for a fact that some people with high end computers have allmost not fps and major difficulties, while on the other hand i manage to play the game with a acceptable (borderline "good") fps on my shitty old computer. OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU ~2.9GHz (4 CPU's) Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 Ram: ~6 gig. DirectX: Version 11.
Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers yet or any of the other tips here: http://www.uberent.com/pa/faq/
Yep, completely updated. The game worked better in Alpha and apparently Beta is meant to run even better. Very strange.
Here you go; OS : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Lang: English System Manufacturer: Packard Bell System model: imedia s3810 BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 13 CPU 550 @ 3.20 GHz (4 CPU's), ~3.2GHz Memory: 7168MB RAM Page file: 3295MB used, 11020MB Available. DirectX Version: DirectX 11.
When you run dxdiag, there's is an option to save all information. Upload the text file to this thread. It gives alot more information that just major hardware specs.
What Methlodis said, you need to upload DxDiag.txt as file. Also if you can please open this directory: C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME \AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\ And upload one these of log files to your post too.
Run game, and one will be created. It's really important to know on what stage your game freeze. Also your DxDiag looks totally okay, so it's might be hardware problem. Can you please download GPU Z: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ And then check what temperature of GPU you have when you got freeze, probably it's your problem.
Alright, I've found a way to combat the lag. Turn all settings to maximum, this makes hella good work of the CPU and GPU, they both maintain under 40 Degrees and work with no hiccups and/or static chops.
