So just got the kickstarter email with the Lore in it and I'm wondering what this line is referring to: "I searched my memory core for something we could use as a symbol, something to instill pride, and fear. I discovered the image of a flying beast known as an eagle, an image that had been important long ago; the symbol of an ancient empire long since forgotten. An eagle clutching a world in its talons; it would make a proper symbol for our newly formed faction." I quite liked the snippet by the way, nice little story.
BTW there is a *lot* more background story. We are just choosing to build mystery and reveal it over time. Who are the progenitors?
Progenitor - Noun a direct ancestor an originator or founder of a future development; precursor a person or thing that originates something or serves as a model; precursor. Very fascinating
I was going to try and post what I was hoping would be a SFW but humorous image macro about tentacles / hentai. However, a PSA for anyone attempting to do so - typing the word 'tentacles' into Google image search, even with the SafeSearch feature enabled, will fill your screen with some very weird stuff. You have been warned.
Well, isn't there a progenitor commander? Surely that would imply that it is another of the factions. An earlier faction than 'The first empire' however seems contradictory so perhaps it is those that created the commanders? I like to imagine the Progenitors as the survivors of the war and the machines still fighting it (in a sense).
Actually eagles and birds of prey are very common in heraldry. In fact the two headed eagle is quite common. For instance nations that had eagles as part of their heraldry or imagery were/are Holy Roman Empire, Russian Empire, Byzantium Empire, Roman Empire, Poland, Austria and even the USA.
couldn't the ancient long since forgotten empire be anything it could be any empire /kingdom/ fake kingdom which was the source of the this robot choosing the image like romulan symbol and bird of prey holding rolmulus and remus in its claws so the source of the image could be anything and by asuming the image is romans basicaly makes the progenitors advanced humans which is boring as **** i want there to be no humans at all in this universe
Human or creators wiped out with clues (with out spelling it out exactly ) sounds more interesting and allow more more wiggle room in the lore. One thing I hate is when games contradict their own lore "looks at Diablo 3"
Diablo 3 had very loose lores, very tight in their own worlds, very loose between different itinerations. Overall, I liked it, despite not being the biggest fan of playing the games.
