So last night I acquired the PC version of MNC and I find out my PC just fails to meet the minimum requirements but that didn't stop this Uber fan from trying to play it.

Last night I decided to just play a few Blitz matches to get a handle on the controls and it was actually quite easy to adjust. I was using the mouse and keyboard by the way. I tell you what though as soon as the tutorial started I knew it was going to be very tough to play due to my low system settings. Man was I getting slammed by Bouncers and swarmed by Gremlins near the end. By the way, since I was playing with headphones on, the Gremlins make some of the most creepiest sounds I've ever heard. It's like a mix between a squeal and a shriek with some gurgling thrown in. I managed to crawl to the finish line with my Moneyball, believe it or not, just about half/3/4 of life missing.

After finishing that I proceeded to Blitz and have yet to change any of the video settings. Luckily I knew where to place turrets and which one to hack because I died to the Jackbot simply because I couldn't dodge his hand cannons. I was still getting a handle on the controls and the fact that I panicked didn't help. I then turned everything to low and it was a lot better but still not good enough. I played Blitz this time without dying and was still having fun.

I logged on a couple hours ago to play some more Blitz and to try out Crossfire. i was able to beat Season blitz no problem despite having the hardest time dealing with Gremlins. Oh yeah I played 1 Blitz game each last night with Support then Tank and beat Season Blitz with the Support as well. By now I have a fairly decent handle on the controls so I decided to challenge myself with some Crossfire. I ended up playing 4 matches before my mouse hand started to hurt. It was pretty intense so I was squeezing hard.

I join a server, don't even remember which one, and went Tank. I join a game in progress on Ammo Mule. Was trying to follow my normal paths but couldn't help but look at my feet most of the time. I died for the first time and recognized the name right away from the forums and my butt-cheeks tightened. It was XyzKiller. I did my best trying to control bots and I thought I was doing quite well considering my PC's system specs. At one point a Support was overhealing me and I thought to myself "Please don't help me because I am not going to be able to return the favor. Sure enough an Assault and Tank were just around the corner and I end up looking at my feet again but before I died I got a turret kill and was able to dodge an Air Strike. I did however manage to get two kills this game and one was with a level 2 product grenade.

The next game was Steel Peel and my team had no "slayer" classes so I said what the heck and went Gunner. My teammates obviously didn't know what they were doing 'cause there were two firebases inside our spawnroom upgraded to level 3. Needless to say I got my butt whooped! This is when I realized XyzKiller is a pretty good Tank player because he was just owning everyone on my team, including me. Hey though I was able to kill their Jackbot XL right after it dropped our shields!

The next game was GrenADEiii and somehow I ended up being on a 7 man team?! I went Assault this time but before I left the spawnroom I took this time to look over what every button did, mainly looked for the button to chat. By the time I was done the enemy ball was down so I just posted up on the bridge and banked grenade onto their Moneyball.

Now came the greatest match of them all LaseRazor! I went Support so I wasn't a complete waste to my team. I was able to put my firebase on the floor by the Annihilator and hack it. While it controlled the bots for a bit I did my best to heal and overheal teammates. This is when I found out you can't stand still for more then a second or off popped your head. Instead of going to die again I decided to turtle and take care of our defenses. This is when I notice XyzKiller is also a Support.

So the first Jackbots spawn and we get pushed back. I typed "Jackbot pushing the right" and my team flocked to help. I was surprised at that. I was like hey these players actually responded to that. I then notice I have a bunch of money to build/upgrade turrets so I built a couple Shave-Ice turrets and some Rock-Its and hacked what I could.

I die again from standing still for too long and during my death I notice the enemy team has just as much defense as us. I respawned and bought myself a few Gapshots. Yay! I get two turret kills. More money to fortify my defense. Also helping XyzKiller out and hacking any turret that he wasn't able to. To make a longer story short the game went into overtime and all I could do was look at my feet and kill myself with Air Strikes. Because we had a solid defense the enemy team was barley able to do any damage to our Moneyball despite them juicing in. Meanwhile I was trying to make it to the Annihilator then buy juice and shotgun the poop out of their Moneyball. I tell you the hardest thing for me to do between the slowdown and the WSAD for movement was using jump pads. Anyways I ended up going 2 - 12 -12 that game with 60+ bot kills and 10 turrets built.

So yeah despite all of that it was still a blast! Oh and since I had headphones on I found out Bullseye mumbles to himself a LOT.

If you've read this thank you for caring.
    :D

    [Edit]
Also during that match during LaseRazor someone got bacon and I typed in the Teamchat "BACON!" :)

why would you stand still as a support?
unless you are hacking there is no reason tol

Parallels or Boot Camp. Only option, until Epic Games decides to make an OpenGL render path for UE3.

I don't know anything about the unreal engine, but you can probably look online to find some config settings to bottom out the graphics options well below what the in-game settings allow

maybe someone around here could make a high-FPS config specific for MNC

See the thing is I would be afraid that I would end up breaking, for a lack of a better word, my computer trying to troubleshoot on my own.

You can't break your computer messing with MNC's config files.

Well, I wouldn't say can't, but it would be VERY difficult.

Consider trying a FPS boost config, I bet it will help you a lot! Good luck and welcome to PC gaming.

Man I swear the PC crowd get a bad rep but after seeing how helpful you guys have been on these forums I am starting to second guess all the naysayers. Jealousy is a mo-fo. :D

Not to sound stupid, even though I am, what do I do with that?

    My Documents -> My Games -> UnrealEngine3 -> HostileGame -> Config

    Hope you find it. :)

edit: If you need extra stuff turned down a notch, check his file with notepad and look for
    Code:
    [SystemSettings]
that should have every setting you need. You should see some familiar stuff like decals, bloom, etc... you set most to false for improvements. The numbers I think you'll have to play with... but see how his file works for you first.

If I were you, please keep a copy of that file. It's easy. Right click - Copy - Paste.

Now it should say "Copy of xxxxx.ini"

That will be your original, while you can place grim's file in there. You'll be completely safe.

I don't know whether or not that laughing face was mocking me, but oh well I did what you said anyways. Now I shall go test it.
