    Needs moar boosters.

    Also, that's frikken awesome.

Crashing as in explosions, or crashing as in a very unhappy computer? As it is quite possible that one of those is more likely than the other.

    I'm... confused by the flaps.

    Not a fan.

If I'm honest, the flaps bother me a bit. I liked the 'clean' look of the ones from the KS video :D

    EDIT: goddammit Nanolathe.

Normally, until they're in use, they wouldn't look like this. They're going to have some relatively complex animation setup with them.

And Nano, nothing makes you happy. ;-)

Lots of things make me happy. Swirls for instance. They made me happy... and you took them away!
    :(

    Hmm... really complex?

Did they need that? I thought the ones in the Kickstarter video were clean, simple... some might say 'brutally efficient'. Why the change to something that looks so...

    fiddly?...

    Nice.

Flaps probably help with giving a legitimacy to having the boosters placed on a round surface and pointing directly out from center. A set of flaps would then allow the boost direction to look redirected slightly. And I am down with having some animated flaps as the thing re-aligns itself to its target. Is this telling me that some mid flight adjustments can be made? I think it does.

You wouldn't need thrust-vectoring to make adjustment,s the thrusters are already mounted on a sphere, so any amount over 1 can allow you to make adjustments(the more thrusters and more control you have) in much the same what of how a tracked vehicle can turn by varying the speed of the tracks.

I dunno, it's hard to say exactly what is going on without you know, seeing the animation, and it seems to me that aside from the flaps the basic construction of the thrusters looks to be very similar.....until we can more accurately compare it's hard to say.
