yes I knew that much was true, I'm glad you have this aproach for the release/post release.

Honestly if it depended on me, I would have had further dates, so as to be able to space out builds more and have less of this shortcuty thing that probably, none of you, as established programmers and developers beleive in. At times this whole 26 of september deal seems more nuts to me than canonical's goal for the edge (which of course i understand was needed to have a reasonable price on the product). I'm kinda throwing this up in the air, not as a means of saying I know what's best but rather I understand and I am right there with you.

Thanks for posting all this garat. I really enjoy hearing about the inside processes as you guys work(even something like pushing new builds, since you rarely hear much about this kind of stuff; it's probably considered mundane by the general community).

I also think it'll help you guys in the lead up to the release. I like to think that hearing your honest reasoning behind avoiding another alpha build should help people stomach it if we don't end up having any more builds until beta.

Awesome, hopefully with plenty of additional funding as you sell 10's-100's of thousands of copies to non kickstarter people!

Did you know half the units in TA were made by one guy? I think he was doing something else and Cavedog found out he was a unit savant.

I miss me some brawlers and versing against 10 AI's (Easter egg on the game setup screen *X)

Now this is something I haven't heard before. But at the same time... I'm not actually surprised. A single unit designer would understand the obvious and hidden interactions he uses to make make things excel and fail in all the right places and in the right way.

It's tough, and even if you try to keep it simple there are always going to be a lot of moving parts.

Total Annihilation is irrefutably one of the best real time strategy games ever made of all time, if it isn't already the best. You have to look at how the game has been out for nearly two decades now, and it's still going strong. Still rocking house. Still taking names. It's inspired how many games now? And not a single one has completely captured the feel of TA yet.

Can Planetary Annihilation do it? I sure as hell hope so.

    I don't know what you're playing, but I know what I'm playing.

    I'm playing Planetary Annihilation.

Right now I'm spending most of my time playing Mechwarrior Online, but that community is so full of hate for the developers that when I come over here I'm reminded that there really are good, dedicated people working on games who listen to us and talk to us frequently. I know that this game will be awesome because the devs are a great track record and I like their ideas with how to make PA new and different from TA and SupCom. Keep at it guys, I'm here for the long haul now.

A lot of that PGI-hating is due to a communication problem between the community and the developers. They're making changes that make sense to them, but leave the community scratching their heads and saying what the fook?
