    I was wondering.
When starting zone are placed ?

Is it placed at map generation ? So when loading a saved "map", start points are always the same. (more adapted to competitive play)

Is it placed at game creation ? So it can adapt more easily to the number of player.

Are metal spot taken into account to decide where to place a start zone ? In general I'm a bit curious on how starting point are generated (or how it will be)
(I know it is plan to give a minimum of starting mex with the egg system)

Start points are set - if you play enough games on the same planet you will notice the exact same set of start spots quite often.

I would postulate that currently spawn points are probably only calculated from the distance from other people's spawns and not number of mex close by.

It all seems pretty random, ive spawned on planets where there was like 3 metal spots, and i had to go really far.

Also the distributions of them is isnt that random atm, just seems to be fields of them where they are.

But im sure its stuff they will improve later when they get around to game balance.

ive even spawned on a small island with no metal points xD

Mex spawns are random, and they get placed in clusters. I believe it to be essentially that when spawning mex, it will spawn a cluster of them, rather than an individual one.
