    Yes.

Thankfully, they could be modded in, and I fully expect super units to be some of the first mods out there.

Basically super units are something we considered adding as an additional stretch goal and decided not to. The feedback I got was to concentrate on making the base game better. Keep in mind we want to continue to add to the game over time so there is plenty of room and time for giant robots to show up in the future. It's just not something we are committing to for launch.

BTW I have some ideas for REAL super units. Imagine giant units that actually "dig into" the terrain for things like bean stalks, or giant laser installations on metal planets.

Any one care to explain what he means by that bolded part? Might be a language barrier thing but the only association i have for beanstalks is "jack and the beanstalk" and i somehow doubt neutrino plans to implement giants living in the clouds (not a clever orbital pun)...

Basically units that can become part of the terrain (look at the metal planet for ideas). Bean stalks are the same thing as a space elevator. So picture a HUGE unit that uses CSG to actually modify the terrain and then connects to an orbital station which allows you to quickly and efficiently move things to orbit. Note this is not part of the current plan but along the lines of stuff I want to do in the future.

In his original post he did specify 'super units' so he's safe ;p

Exactly my point. No ridiculously oversized mecha in sight.
We're on to the real super weapons now.

I'll take your megabot, and raise you a "red matter"

(Yes, I was horrified at that plot hack, but I admit, a singularity weapon would be awesome)

That is far grander than I ever expected in a game! I must raise it a notch, Metal planets must have legs O:<
Well, as long as megabots are at least possibility in the distant future, I'ma keep submitting thoughts on them.

Actually...in a serious idea, if there are going to be metal moons...and metal planet super weapons... What if the metal moon sheds off a (small?) section of itself landing on the planet it is orbiting, turning into a rather large megabot.

I'm not sure if metal planet super weapons were planned on or not, or what level of annihilation they were expected to dispense. But for a moon sized metal planet, dare I say landing a megabot on a planet seems conservative for a super weapon.

Even cooler still, if that section of moon had factories built on it. Them being still capable of building units on it's back (Air factories anyway) :p

    Metal Planet = Death Star.

It's already planned to be a 'Super Unit'... the superest super unit.
