I'd like to be able to rotate the planet view using RMB + move. Right-click could still be used to issue commands, but if the RMB is held down and the mouse is moved a given amount, it switches from "command" mode to "move" mode. The camera/planet rotation speed would be adjustable in Game Settings. The mouse cursor would become invisible (but remain in place) once RMB Move mode is activated, then re-appear in its original location when RMB is released. I'm not asking to eliminate any other form of camera control, but I strongly feel that this type of camera movement is the best possible option. Ideally, the direction the mouse is moved would determine the planet rotation (or camera movement.) Movement would be locked to how far the mouse is moved instead of a scroll speed that is adjusted by how far the mouse is moved. This allows for quick, or nearly immediate, rotation to any point on the map without having to wait for the planet to slowly rotate. Please incorporate this control method. I really want to enjoy the game, but the current control scheme makes the game frustrating for me. I haven't read much of the forums, so I apologize if this has already been covered and/or planned for an upcoming patch.
I like the orientation, even though it should be a hotkey to show the grid. I dont know if its actually matters if you can build bridges or create rivers, when u have flying transport units (which can transport water to water as well), both things are just not needet.
I have yet to crack my knuckles and give this game ago.. I remember the days of the ancestor's UI and gaming in Homeworld like it was in autocad.. I hope the UI for PA surpasses both.
