tired of these tourneys making mincemeat of Uber's work on procedural and forgoing it all to play on the same blasted planet. I know the game is in alpha and once you check a planet you can find some that turn out "less bugged" than others. my gripe with this is that it's becomming a habit and people are confusing "checking the planet for defects" with "balancing the match" there is no better way to butcher the balance on a game based on procedural then the cut out the procedural part of it.
There is no balance - it's alpha. Choosing a specific level allows you to let people practice on the map and choose a map with an even distribution of mex.
I appear to have insufficient privileges to post in the tournament thread after creating an account...
mass in chasms and mountains that you cannot build on. even on neptunio's planet there are tons of those anyways so its just an excuse in the end.
actually, the reason for these kind of maps is an attempt at getting even starting locations. you would not believe the advantage certain starting locations can give, they are literally game breaking.
It's still spitting on's uber's balance of procedural and taking out part of it's balance being dependent on randomness, you forget the start locations change from one host to the other and in the end there will always be a "better" spot no matter what, especially on a planet that you know by heart. the fact that this is done on moon biome also particularly advantages those who use the firefly landed in crater immortal exploit, I'm thinking of neptunio in particular, gentleman's rules my ***, this is animal farm
firefly landed in crater? I think most people land air in craters because that way it is simpler to select them later without having a mix of air and land.
You know that you can bomb the scout right? Hell, you can bomb Fighters if your Bombers are coming off a mountain. It's pretty funny.
The only unit a landed scout is invunerable to is a t1/t2 fighter. Not sure if bots can aim into the crater.
