an outsiders perspective on colins build

    The builds created are decent in light of playing colin, at times in the game there was an army advantage, but the high probability of not striking at the right spot at the right time diminishes tremendously as the game goes on. This happens with the simple production of an early air factory. The style used by colin is ever flowing and completely reactionary, and when this is within the hands of a powerful player, this style of play is a beastly formidable machine to content with.

    The optimization within the build is bounds beyond that of posted tutorials. Quadratech doesn't stand a chance. Spear head, can only win if unscouted, and a powerful strike is landed in a vulnerable place, and attacks on turrets will not be overpowered when 5 fabbers are repairing turets, the aggressive player must bounce around in hopes of a weak spot while the door of opportunity closes further and further over time. Thus making spear head a definite all in.

    The thing I like about colins build is the flowing nature of it. It is liquid in nature and could never truly be mastered, and a million variables can change every game. Simply outstanding, this game is so awesome.

    I will be posting replay when i get the time. So all may enjoy this style of play and begin to start the monumentous journey of mastery with builds like this. While i develop my own style of play from this opening the only thing I can think to name the beauty is the "Liquid" build.

    Call it what you want to call it but " the meta game" doesn't do it justice. The "meta game" will be minor shifts within this style of play.

    I started using a style similar to this within my first tutorials, but tried to branch out to different strats which proved to be for nothing. I predict all the top players will be using this style of play, or all ins designed to pick this style of play apart.

    We have a hell of a game on our hands ladies and gentlemen, better buckle up for its gonna be one hell of a ride ;D

    Not to be rude, but I'd be much more inclined to read this if you used paragraphs and proper punctuation/capitalization. It's a trend I've noticed in some of your posts - it'd be great if this kind of discussion reached a wide audience, but I'm sure I'm not the only one turned away by your writing style.

    I think what's really liquid about my build is that it actually changes from game to game in search for improvements. ;)

    I have the feeling that the game is too young for actual tutorials. Maybe I am wrong. Are there more people who would like a tutorial video from me?

    You seem to think that the economy shown in the video is mine, which is wrong. Afaik it is your economy. So you can't judge my build by it.

    uh nice, cola playing with Clan tag ;) Raising expectations of everyone towards VoW, yet he is right now the only active PA player^^

    I hope Zock and Bhaal and some others change their opinion towards PA, they might be some of the best players in PA, if they chose to play it

    Such people as Zock and bhaal have expressed their opinion that they are basically giving up on the game until scale is changed (I strongly dissagre with this aproach but I cannot manage to change their opinion) Lu_Xun has not really medled with the forum (to my knowledge) and will be joining us on beta.

    The build order you use is only applicable to the current version of the game, the way good players use their reasoning to come up with proper responses is something much more universal. That's why it's always good to have.

    Right, I chalk that up to exhaustion, none the less the flow becomes apparent, expand fast, expand till you meet resistance, constantly scout, react quick, sprinkle in d as you go, ect. Look forward to playing you again after I dust up on the playstyle.

    I would love to watch a tutorial video made by your good self, Cola! Of course gameplay is set to change and things you say may become redundant or inapplicable after time, but you could keep it to core concepts and so on. Any mental tricks you use to stay on top of all of your factories and fabbers, etc.

    You might find it interesting to actually sit down and analyse your playstyle, since it is probably very much in your subconscious!

    You could do it as a custom made video/game, or you could provide commentary for your existing games.

    Regardless, I would find it interesting to hear your thought processes as you play.
