Whenever I click play, and wait, it doesn't respond. Been waiting for about 5 minutes now, still the same thing. A slightly whiter screen, and the title of the window says "Planetary Annihilation (Not Responding)".

Can you please attach your DxDiag.txt?

PS: It's seems like you're Intel HD 3000 owner, yes?

I have a laptop running on Intel, yes, with a B950 2.10GHz dual-core Pentium. Does PA not support this anymore? If so, I'd be very sad.

And it only says "not responding" when I try to resize it, but it's still a black screen even if I leave it.

It's problem occur in last build for Intel HD 2000/3000.

Anyway you have really outdated drivers:
    Code:
    Driver Date/Size: 3/26/2012 22:09:58, 8087040 bytes
I can't give you direct link to driver, but this util should download latest drivers for you:
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics
Post here if this let you update drivers successfully, new after-update DxDiag will be also useful. Thanks.

PS: Actually you might try this driver:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23102
Your integrated GPU based on HD2000, so it's probably will work, but using of Intel tool is preferable.

Then I'll re-post my question from bugtracker:

Can you please open this folder:
    C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME \AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\
and attach log files from here. It’s more clearly show what videocard used by game.

If game still using Intel HD according to log it's mean you configure Nvidia Optimus wrong.

Try set "bin_x64\pa.exe" (Not PA.exe in main game folder!) to run on your discrete Nvidia card and then run it as administrator _directly_ from files explorer. E.g not though launcher and not though Steam.

I have also tried making the default settings for all programs to be nvidia not intel.
    same thing.

trying updating the bios. i wish I can disable intel from bios, but there is no option for this.

    EDIT:

SXX, I love you man. It is working now.
    here is how:
from BIOS. in display settings I had 3 options:
    1) integrated = Intel
    2) discrete = Nvidia
    3) Nvidia opxxx somthing!

option one is bad. black screen
option two will force nvidia in windows 7 all the time (fixed the black screen issue)
option three, is a mix between 1 and 2 depending on software selection, this option did not work for me, I could not force nvidia drivers to run PA on nvidia chipset.

the default is option 3. change it to 2 and that's it.

you deserve a big like my friend.

Keep trying, I sure it's can be fixed by using proper configuration, try reboot, settings change, try to change Windows user or reinstall Intel/Nvidia drivers. Or even try set CoherentUI_Host.exe to run on Nvidia.

I totally sure you're able to fix it because it's software problem.

On most of notebooks Nvidia cards don't have physical connection to display monitor, so they just can't work without Intel HD.

You're are really lucky then, 90% of notebooks don't have such option. :p;)

Okay, I'm probably going to get absolutely no help for this, but another bit of info that may or may not help/change the issue. I've converted my key to steam, and when the little tab that says "Press shift + tab to access the steam menu," or something like that, goes down into it's hidey hole, it shows like an infinite loop of like 20 pictures of that tab, all in the positions from where it is at the start, to where it is when it's fully down. Also, when I press Shift + Tab, and do so again, everything like fades, but flashes in and out. Why does this happen to me? All I wanna do is build a space fighter :(

This is exactly same issue you got on non-steam version. Nobody with Intel HD2000/3000 can play game on Windows in this build.

You need to waif before Uber fix the problem or before somebody fix some way to bypass it.
