I can't play PA because every time I hit the login button in can't connect to ubernet. I bought the game on steam, I'm using windows 7 64 bit, I have an alienware Aurora R3 computer, my isp is Comcast, I'm not using a wifi connection any ideas are appreciated.
Could you make screenshot of error you get? Or just post error text here. Do you have some anti-virus or firewall installed? Or might be any especial network configuration like proxy, VPN? PS: Last connection error I seen was related to ESET anti-virus.
Can you please answer to other questions? Problems you met might only hapen because of anti-virus/firewall software or because of network configuration.
My anti-virus is Webroot secure anywhere, I don't have any special network config. I have 2 fire walls the windows built in one and the one that comes with my anti virus. The error I'm receiving is the same one as the last forum you commented on (the eset anti-virus).
Can you try to completely disable anti-virus and windows firewall and check if you able to play? I mostly sure your issue related to AV software.
Unfortunately after disabling all firewall on my computer the error still occurred. I really appreciate your help in this matter I wish this would just work already
I really don't have any other idea why this occur, probably you need to send email to Uber: info@uberent.com I sure garat will read this topic, but you might get answer faster if you send email. You can also try that: in your Steam library do right click on Planetary Annihilation and choose "Properties", then choose Local Files and press "Browse Local Files" button. Now try to run PA.exe directly with administrator permissions and post here if you get same error again.
Failure to connect to port 443 is a bit odd but I do have some ideas. Are you able to browse to other random web sites via HTTPS? (Google, Amazon, Newegg, ect...) Are you in a location that might be filtering outbound internet connectivity such as an office? What do you get if you perform a trace route to uberent.com? ("tracert uberent.com" on the Windows command prompt) What happens if you attempt to telnet to uberent.com on port 443? Instant blank screen? Time out error? ("telnet uberent.com 443" on the Windows command prompt)
I'm able to do normal internet browsing easily, I don't have any troubles with it. I'm on my home network so there's no filtering of the internet. When I performed a tracert on uberent.com all the requests timed out. Unfortunately I'm running windows 7 64bit so I don't have telnet on my computer.
