Rules of early engagement

    So here is how i make my first move, i build one metal harvester(MH) and then one energy plant(EP) and then make 2 more MH's, after that i build a tier 1 bot factory and build 10 tier 1 engineers, while i command my commander to make only EP's as many as he can, the 3 first engies scatter and build MH all over the place, the 4th makes 3 Metal deposits and then 3 Energy Deposits, after that he will assist where needed, the 5th will make one radar and then proced to make AA turrets everywhere where needed(AA is always needed!), the 6th will make 10 vehicle factories tier 1, the rest of the 4 engineers will make tier 2 vehicle factories, thats my early plan, ofc i spam vehichles production and use bots ONLY as builders, they are faster, builds faster, and is faster built.

    Now i wanna know how you guys make you're early engagements!


    i have won about 20 matches of 25 and one of the wins was a 1vs1vs1vs1, where i killed of all the commanders in the game.

    Sounds roughly the right idea although making AA so early and for no reason is a very poor idea and a waste of mass. Invest in fighters instead.

    Bots actually take the same time to build, build at the same speed as vehicles, and they move at the same speed. They are cheaper and have faster acceleration and turning speed though.

    I make like 4 engies and then a small army and go and destroy bases like yours that lack defense early on. It works 60% of the time every time.

    hmmm ok i thought they where faster but alteast they are better to scatter out and find metal spots, also hey i watch you're videos on youtube, considered making a shallow water planet yet?

    and i don't make any air at all the fighters would be a bigger time consuming thing, also i have 2 of my tier 1 vehicle factories always making AA tanks, all i have seen from air units even at tiers 2 is that they aren't good enough

    hmmmm i wanna actually then play a game against you, also does that really work that well? i mean the commander should be able to repel you before you make any desicive damage?

    It doesn't out-right work. It will mess up your econ though if a raiding force takes out your early expansion mass. But it should be expected... raid raid raid to win. Bases shouldn't have "static" defenses that early in a game... waste of mass/energy.

    What does work if the start spots are near by is your com plus a few engies. Priority targets are Engies first, fabs, then whatever you want. Keep your engies behind your com as best you can so that they can heal him without being easily targeted. Also, a com loses about 1/2 life to a com nuke (IIRC), so you can gauge when to run in and d-gun based on that.

    I do something similar, then again, I've only really played against the AI that just been sending wave after wave of bombers.

    Small nitpick, last 4 bot engineers can't make T2 Vehicle factories.

    A lot of the competitive players build a 4th mex before factory and don't scatter fabbers. It's best to keep them in 3s or 4s.
