I'm curious as to how different the economy is/will be compared to FA. In my first game I attempted to have the same build order as I did in FA, and it seemed like I was stalling a lot more.

Energy stalls are much easier to create and much harder to predict in PA than SupCom. In SupCom, if you were going to energy stall, you knew it ahead of time. In PA, because of the long rollout time on factories, wonky Fabber pathfinding, and low initial energy storage, predicting and compensating for energy stalls is a lot harder.

LUCKILY, Energy Storages have 100,000 energy storage, and are cheap. Compare that to the +600 per second production of T1 Fusion Gens; it would take about 16 and 2/3 seconds for 1 pgen to fill a Storage. That's pretty decent, and can be used to entirely negate stalls. Much better than SupCom's utterly useless energy storage.

Metal acts a bit differently than SupCom; in SupCom, you are usually limited by metal, not so much energy. In PA, your metal is, 75% of the time, unlimited, and it depends on how many factories and power gens you have more than anything. This may not be the case in the future when metal becomes more sparse and less... Clusterfucky.
