Looking closer to the concepts, still lots of work to do.

For backers only don't distribute etc.

    Looking good.

Although I've gotta say, this is one biome type where any sort of antialising really is necessary.

Looking awesome, I really dislike the random sphere chunks though. Looks out of place.

Do you mean the caps? Those are just placeholders for the brush tech to place things in specific places. Go look at the metal planet concept to see the plan.

    This looks pretty damn awesome.

Although, I'm afraid you missed the big red button.

I like how the canyons are set at the major air circulation latitude thingys. Clearly a metal world must be air cooled!

Will there... be water on metal planets?

Just curious if we're going to see navel action. I always did like the large metal TA maps with lots of water. If all you really wanted to see was massive navel fights of every type of ship ever made ever, those were the maps to do it on. Hoping to see some of that epicness grace the later stages of PA.

You're assuming that Metal Maps are the same as Metal Planets, that may or may not(but probably not) be the case.

I don't know of any map that has a significant portion that is solidly metal without.. being a metal planet. ..Unless you can state one that I don't know about, but you do make a good point.

Already posted my thoughts on the subject here though. I doubt metal planets will be the be-all-end-all for extreme economies. viewtopic.php?p=766342#p766342

Would be cool if it was like, coolant leaking in stead of water. (or water IS the coolant).

I think the main problem would be: does the metal planet have an atmosphere (current pic suggests not)

No atmosphere is needed for water to exist in liquid form on the surface of a planet, just heat and gravity.

I am pretty sure that at 0 Pascal pressure the boiling point of water is 0 degree kelvin. Or: yes water would exist but it'll boil off into space.
