i bought the game through steam. i tryed everything, every solution that is on the forums, but nothing seems to work. hope someone can help, 82,- is a lot for something that doesn't even start up. i installed it through steam (ofcourse) but even when i pres the play button in steam itself the game won't start, it does absolutly nothing. no window no error and no game. no when i go to the installation folder there is a PA.EXE, when i double klick that. it gives me the error: ("the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). click OK to close the application") :| Operating System: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 tell me if you need more.
Did you read this thread: viewtopic.php?f=71&t=47593 Maybe something there can help you. You are most likely missing some kind of library or you are using an outdated driver or something like that.
i tryed that before, and installed those. checked all my drivers to, everything is up to date and installed. bevore i posted this discussion i searched the forums for HOURS!! restarted a bunch of times, reinstalled and deleted the game a bunch of times to. the shortcut and steam still do nothing. and the direct EXE still gives me 0xc000007b the PA logs all say [15:48:19.000] INFO Log file C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\PA-15-48-19.000.txt opened [15:48:19.000] INFO Looks like we are running via Steam

i restarted a view times. but nothing worked. then i thaught "i was planning on reinstalling my computer anyway, why not now" so i did and got everything running now. THE GAME WORKS!! thx for the help guys.
