Just noticed it is currently last on the Steam top sellers list without even being discounted, during the summer sale. This makes me curious just how many sales Steam has generated for PA thus far.
If I recall correctly I think someone said that the Top Sellers list was based on raw Dollars sold as opposed to number of sales, so even if it's being outsold by another game 10:1, as long as the other is cheaper than 9$ PA comes out ahead in Raw dollar amount. Mike
I would honestly doubt that there are that many buyers. Considering the steam version includes alpha access, yet there aren't that many concurrent players online. Remember, Planetary Annihilation is priced at $90, and the Top Sellers list is revenue based. So let's say 100 people buy the game, that generates $9000 dollars of revenue. Let's say the game cost $22.50, it would take 400 people in order to get to the same amount. I thought Steam sale is only applicable to retail games.
If you're asking if there will be a sale for the PA alpha...that should be kinda obvious without having to ask that question.
We are hiring more people to work on the team. I told you guys we are putting this money into the game, right?
Preaching to the choir here ;p This has been a big thing I've been saying in all the "ZOMG UBER ARE GREEDY TARTS" threads. Mike
But you guys raised more than 900k, 2.something mil to be exact, you shouldn't need any more money. Greedy developers. Am I doing it right? :ugeek:
Even if it is just in dollar amounts, it's pretty impressive than an RTS with a high price tag made it up there during a sale.
would be very interesting to know, how much money was raised after kickstarter by steam, preorder and other things. At least roughly. Was it only a percent of kickstarter, or 10% or 50% or 100% or even 1000% of it?
