Look, Uber has already stated that they won't change anything.

This is the closest I have gotten to a reasonable solution so I will take it.
not to buy alphas for game-play because that's what your not going to get in alphas

13 – Do not buy alphas for game-play because that's not what you get in alpha. – greendiamond – Uber forums

    These are completely irrelevant.

IF anyone buys Alpha thinking they just get to play early is in for a shocking surprise.

The solution is in knowing what you're purchasing. IF you don't know basic English to understand what is being offered or whichever language you view it in then the failure is on your end and not the developer.

Look, if you want ideas, use search. As we've said, there have been many, many threads already discussing this. No need to create your own thread.

the current plan works. people are confused on why it exists. a real solution wouldn't be to change the price, but to inform the people who are complaining on why it is like it is

Wow. The Steam thread you linked is just filled to the brim with misinformation.

Since you are looking for "solutions" I think the biggest one is to learn what will actually be in the game at release.

For the time being, I don't think any alteration is necessary. The furore has died down, better information has been made available to people, and PA has made it onto the front page of steam for a number of days now. I fail to see how the disproportionate outrage of a small and ignorant section of the steam community can be considered a serious problem, so much as fact of life.

The internet has a long memory, but a short attention span. If things heat up again, then action may be required. Until then, there's really no reason to adopt any "solutions".

This is completely normal. Even new AAA titles don't stay at the top for more than a few days. The fact that PA hit the top ten at all at $90 is incredible and indicates that it will be wildly sucessful upon release.

Totally untrue. See every Blizzard game ever made and the more recent entries in the Battlefield series.

No they really aren't. This phrase predates the information age and is based on observations of human psychology and social behavior. It is just as true now as is was 100 years ago. Supermarket tabloids and most of the E! TV channel are perfect examples of this in today's world.

You are assuming that there is a problem that needs to be addressed in the first place. You have not yet been able to demonstrate that this is the case so your entire argument falls apart.

Also, asking that people who disagree with you not post in this thread is just dumb as it defeats the purpose of a message board.

Live in australia where games can cost you more then $100
Seriously are you really looking for an answer
or just looking for someone to.just agree?

What I think if it hypothetically was sold at $40 what would happen since alpha is client only server would crash due to amount of people logging in resulting uber spends more time and money on customer support then bug hunting and building the game.
So the $90 dollars would of been a buffer or fillter For uber to get what they need since it is kick starter not publisher funded.

But they chose not to go down that path so I guess we would never know if I was right.

Plus some people were begging for PA o be on steam.

If you want to talk about what is right wrong or needed please start your own thread and stop trolling in this one.

This thread is to talk about solutions.

I am closing this, as there is no point in further discussion. Uber chose this path and they don't seem to be particularly unhappy with it.

Thread is locked. Please don't accuse people of trolling if they're trying to provide suggestions of how to better use the forums.

Similarly, we've said enough with the threads about pricing. All that can be said has been said. We appreciate the thoughtfulness of everyone engaging in the conversation, but we need to get back to focusing on the game.

    Thanks.
