Hello evryone, just making a new post because i didin'T read anything about research for units or building i mean, why not implanting one with armor/firepower/speed even structure health point upgrade ? it's just a suggestion , maybe someone have already posted this kind of thread, or not. Thanks!
wait, how is it terrible? Starcraft has been far more successful than any RTS to date. If the research system is terrible, other aspects must be incredibly amazing to make up for such a large part of the game.
it's not bad per se, global upgrades and unit improvements just don't compliment a macro-focused game it's the same reason veterancy won't be included, although rewarding a player for using units well isn't a bad idea in itself. tangently related but I would love to see easy unit repair/healing for after a long battle.
No please. I hate researches in supcom2 and other rts like starcraft etc. Make tiers like supcom1, not research trees.
yes, for sure! nanotowers could do that in TA-style games, it just comes down to how repair works - whether it costs the prorated cost of the unit in mass and energy or just energy. This is how it worked in a lot of spring games https://code.google.com/p/zero-k/wiki/Repair
