I am having a hard time setting a rally point for my factories. I select my factory and hold shift while clicking a location on the map but my unit still stay right in front of the factories after being built.
Shift queues up commands. Don't hold down shift and you should be able to right-click to change the rally point. You CAN press shift to check where the rally point is BTW.
thank you that is working out much better for me. I like how holding shift shows all the structures in queue to be built.
T is the button you are looking for P enables disables frames and other data M moves camera down and backwards but only if you are zoomed in unit level U disables/enables HUD
My 2 cents 1) one more vote for Ctrl Z 2) A shortcut to Re-set the planet's orientation to North up or whatever. 2.1) planet axis/compass lines, visible, on and off 3) Eventually make P equal Patrol. Alt P can be the frame rate tool 4) Looking forward to shortcuts for attack, assist, reclaim 5) POV shortcut for units to get cool video of the action 6) Spacebar view doesn't snap back till you hit it again... 7) Ability to center on a unit without Tracking. Maybe Ctrl C or something. Also, this isn't the right topic forum but it's hard to select Metal extractors sometimes, information about objects gets in the way. Full Screen doesn't seem to make the windows bar on the bottom go away, those symbols get in the way sometimes. Sorry that I am speaking obvious here, must be annoying. The ability to save views - camera angles, etc was nice in TA. Would be even more useful in this game.
I believe N currently does this. T->un-T? Or just C for center, and Ctrl-C to center on commander. U to disable UI was pretty annoying in the middle of a recent game, though.
Two things that I am missing the most right now in terms of controls: Ctrl + Z to select all units of the same type. And Selecting a group (or one unit) then selecting another group (or a unit of a different type) while holding Ctrl to add them to the existing group. Basically combining groups with ctrl and not with drawing a rectangle. P.S. Please please please dont forget to simplify/change the strategic icons the current icons for units are.....
Sorry if this has been covered, it's a busy day for me. I realise there's a "Quit" button in the lobby, but is there a way to gracefully exit the game once in progress? If I am playing solo (less embarassment...), and I want to leave, I currently just have to shut the application down, but if I come back to the lobby, I'm still shown as "playing", which is fine for the future if trying to rejoin a game after a crash, but doesn't help if you REALLY want to leave. Leaving gracefully would also free up slots on the server a bit quicker, which may be more important when greater numbers of players are around.
the arrow keys dont move around the planet for me left and right do nothing and up and down just zoom in and out how can i fix this
Also as the game is not still localized, don't forget that "wasd" will work only with qwerty layout. so I think that arrow keys are currently better.
Localization is something that usually doesn't start until the last month of game development, unless you have a script heavy game like an RPG where there can be many thousands of lines of text. We may start that sooner as we have so little text in general, but it also is guaranteed to change frequently at this stage. As for DVORAK or other keyboard layouts, once we get key binding options in we'll should make a more serious pass on the default keys (for qwerty) and everyone else can change them to whatever they want.
Testing some things tonight, seems "F" will cycle through fabbers, didn't see that in the thread so figured I would share viewing the path-finding map (F11) and then hitting N activates chia-pet mode 8) Also in that mode (F11) hitting G plots a lot of lines into the three demensional plane around the planet and its features
