Hi I just bought this game and people are saying ways to get into a game just by yourself with some AI's but every time I click make new game it says pa.exe has stopped working im on a 64 bit m17x alienware windows 7 HELP. If you only are interested in the Game when you bought it, then you should probably return in half a year, when the game is ready. However you did not only buy the game, but also access to the early alpha, which is the phase the game is in right now. What that means ccan be found in the various sticky threads in this forum. I am fairly certain the devs have a high interest in getting your case solved, however there is a limited amount of devs available who try to: -keep adding new features -work out bugs on the core libraries -adopt to different OS'es -and much more. This logically means they will simply not be able to handle every issue right away for everyone. Getting snippy at them and referencing the money you spend is probably not working in a positive way, even though they are professional enough to just ignore it for the most part. So what I wanna say is, please be a bit more patient and polite. Also did you actually read through the board and try the various community fixes from people having similar problems? I have tried almost everywhere that's why I am annoyed. And after the hate I got after asking for help on steam im starting to regret hour after hour that I cant play and paid a good amount i know its an alpha but im pretty sure someone has to be having the same problems and you think i would shell out 90$ to find out I cant even play it. I was expecting bugs and glitches but i cant even get to the first step of even touching the gameplay.
Seriously, there was an obvious warning that this game is NOT finished. If you expected anything else, your own fault. Make a bug report on the bug tracker and be patient. Don't be snide and you'll get help, or be and you'll be ignored. Its your own choice. Alpha is not for you to play the game.
Then why is everyone else playing it I'm not asking for an instant solution I've been waiting for awhile and I've checked all the forums and downloaded anything I think I would need. Sir I just want to get the game running I would love to see bugs and glitches right now rather then it just sitting there on my desktop (Alpha is not for you to play the game) Isn't it to test it and check for bugs and stuff im just trying to get to that point.
I understand that and I agree its frustrating if it doesn't work. Unfortunately though, they just can't help you right now. They're swamped with work and just don't have the time. Its the risk of getting in alpha. I know, its easy for me to say that because it works for me and I'll probably be a little bit annoyed to if it totally failed to launch too. I sympathize with you in that regard. But I'm not sure what you're expecting the devs to do? The don't really have much time and if you read everything else there isn't much that we as the community can do. Maybe you'll just have to sit this one out for a week or two and try again later to see if anything new has come out that can help.
So did you update your video drivers? The ones from the Alienware site are very old, you should update from the official AMD site here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/w ... n7-64.aspx Not sure if there are any updates to your audio drivers. If you have updated your drivers and it's still crashing, let us know.
I do sympathise with you, I had my game crash constantly on me for 2 days solid. I eventually worked out that for my case I had to switch my default video card to my nvidia. This may not help you but I'd also recommend taking the admin's advice of updating your drivers. I hope to meet you on the battle field one day and have a good game
It's possible you're running into problems with not having the proper ports opened up on your router or firewall. Our game needs TCP ports 9000-10000 open. Also could you post a log file? Should be able to find them at: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log (copy / paste that into your file explorer)

OMG YES after restoring my whole pc with windows 7, all the drivers and a crap ton of windows updates(could never get windows update to work) the game and a lot of other stuff worked. Thanks for all the help!
