    Hi,

the reason why people paid for this game on kickstarter was:

    - MAKE THIS GAME HAPPEN

there were some unnoticable BONUSES like

    - Alpha access
    - Beta access

if you paid a certain amount of money.

Steam is a store where games are sold, not funded

After the game happened due to more then enough kickstarter-fundings you decided to release the game with access to the alpha/beta on steam - at the same price people FUNDED your game and got the alpha/beta access as a bonus.

    Conclusion:

People who funded the game technically have no reason to complain about a reasonable Steam price since they helped funding the game ( u know, the goal of kickstarting ) and got the access just as a bonus compared to Steam customers who would pay a reasonable price ( max. the finished product's price ) for early access ( u know, the goal of buying items in a store ). Your funding is over, you went on sale, therefore the funding price is may not be the sale price.

The idea of having no Tier with alpha and beta access which costs max. the price of the finished product just sucks in first place. That's where you messed up. You could have gone easy on Steam with a pre-order + alpha/beta-access at release-price.

    I see the following solitions:

    1. Stick to your policy

Pro: Funders will keep their desired entitled status
Con: You will lose a lot of Steam customers who will end up not buying the game at all

    2. Go for 40$ pre-order with alpha/beta access

Pro: Your game will sell like ****, since it really looks awesome and potential, looking forward to play that one. ;) rly, i mean there is so much shitstorm going on from people who would love to rather contribute in the alpha/beta. I was about to ask all of my friends to play the alpha together but yeah.. here i am :D
Con: Those Funders would have to prove if they are really fanboys and if they can stand it that - because the developers messed up - the game is sold for a reasonable price instead of the price funders paid

    3. Get rid of the early access and just get a regular preorder on Steam

Pro: Shitstorm will decrease - not fade - but decrease.
Con: I rly want to contribute in your game's alpha.

Solution 2 seems most viable to me since your community who made this game happen who are already playing the alpha will be more likely to understand why their bonus is no bonus rather than the much bigger Steam community will not accept to not be able to get this game which they had been teased for with trailer and early access release date. I even bet your game would be under top 3 most sold games if the price was acceptable.

I rly just wanted to point out some obvious things, since i was as i said looking forward to play that game yesterday.

    sorry for bad english

If Uber had wanted to sell it for less, they would have sold it for less.

Please don't make repeat topics. There are plenty of threads around on the issue.

I'm sorry but you fail at marketing. You should feel bad for posting such stupidity.

I'm sorry but unnoticeable? The Alpha and Beta rewards were just as apparent as the rest of the rewards and to say otherwise is spreading misinformation, either that or all the rewards were unnoticeable

Also just because the game was successfully funded on KickStarter, doesn't mean they can't put more money towards the project, which is exactly what they've done with proceeds from Pre-Orders and Steam Early Access Purchases, so the game is still being actively funded.

To be fair it was kinda a dumb move to put it on steam this early at alpha pricing. They should have released it to steam during beta for $60 or even before release with $40 preorder pricing. Releasing it to the masses on steam for $90 just rubs people badly and was a bad move imo.

I don't think so. There is no such thing as bad publicity and it helps to weed out the idiots.

I don't know if it was a bad move from a marketing or financial perspective. I do know that I consider this to be a good move; those other people all pay 90. It also weeds out the 'I want to play now!' people from the 'oooh, alpha tester, awesome!'. And finally, it ensures Uber's server can handle the influx of alpha testers.
