I got the early access on steam and downloaded the game. Had no problems with that now I logged in and it says a new version is out please exit and patch. How do I patch the game then? I see no mention of it on forums and no patch file in the folder. Please help if you know how to patch the game.
The PA Launcher should patch for you. Close PA, restart the launcher and it should grab the latest files.
Try deleting the folder created by the patcher. It should just work (but something is clearly going wrong). You can also try and get the bits from steam.
What patch folder? I'm looking in my Pa folder now there is no patch file or folder. What bits from steam? I have deleted the game folder once and redownloaded it from steam to no avail.
I am having the same problem too, it tells me to go to the ubernet website to download the new patch, but there is no patch in the Planetary Annihilation section and I can't find anything on the forums except for this
I've had the same problem and after deleting it and reinstalling it didn't fix the issue. (even saw the ubergames updater pop up a few times) So, somehow I got it going by messing around, I'll walk you through what I did but i'm not saying this method is correct or guarantees anything. If you mess up just delete and reinstall. hit up your PA directory Drive:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planetary Annihilation find a text file called "version" - replace the number in there with the current version Fire up the game and it should let you play. I don't understand how that'd worked, and I assumed I was still playing the previous version so I deleted the "version" file and told Steam to check game cache...and it updated & replaced the file. worked from there. hope this helps, or I just got lucky.
I've just grabbed this from Steam and am having the same issue. Updater doesn't even pop up, just keeps telling me to exit the game to patch. Not sure what other useful information I can give?
1 - Delete local game content. 2 - Install it's again. 3 - Check it. Game is just about 500mb, so it's won't be big problem for you. Or try to update/launch it without steam though launcher: viewtopic.php?f=61&t=47371 I think it's should work if you already got UberNet account with alpha access.
It did indeed work, but I backed up and installed from that instead of redownloading. Some of us are still stuck on archaic internet connections where even a 500mb download means a couple of hours of downloading
Steam is sometimes annoying with this. It takes a while for new builds to propagate out to all the various distribution servers they have. However you can try forcing this by going in to your steam library, right click on a game and select properties. Select local files tab and click on the "verify integrity of game cache...". If that fails to update more than 1-2 files you can try going to steam > settings > downloads and changing your Download region. In the future it could also be we f'ed up and pushed a new build to our game servers but not to steam...
