When a new player joins Blitz the number of bots increases, but it does so immediately (I think!?!). The new player doesn't get half a second to pick a couple of skills because they are needed outside, meaning they're running sub standard. Could we hang back 10 seconds before the bots spawn harder? I commonly find money balls go down if new players enter the match but haven't got stuck in yet. Or am I imagining all this in an attempt to make it not my fault that I keep losing?
if they are joining a match, then you are probably playing a public match. and just like a public crossfire, you can expect public blitz players to have no idea what they are doing.
lol I just made (and deleted) a thread asking for the same thing before I saw this one. Tom12121112, Even when team mates are terrible it's not fair to have the stream of bot's instantly turn into a raging river that will do some serious damage to the money ball before the situation get's under control. Early game is the worst when all you have is a handful of level 1 rockits scattered around (which will quickly turn into burning nubs) and no cash for the annihilator. I would suggest a 15 second delay on the bot rush as some players can easily spend 5 seconds staring at their skills, that gives them 5 to get out and 5 to get to a bot lane. Or 10 for staring at skills and 5 for getting out to meet the bot's coming to the ball.
oh i know. just throwing that out there. i would hope that your turret setup/pros can hold onto an extra 1.2x bots for 10 seconds. though. its not really that much.
Gosh, is that all it is? Seemed like so much more when two guy's and a guest entered in the space of about five seconds, and then suddenly there's a sea of black jacks rushing my money ball while the joiners are still in the spawn. And I was support for that match (SSDB) so I had no chance to stop them with my young turrets
I would even give them 30 seconds or something. The first thing you should do when you join a Blitz game is to see what the other players are using as class and then choose your class accordingly.
Well something isn't gelling even if it isn't instant. Maybe the delay could be set to increase bot numbers in 2 rounds time instead of the following one. Also, indicating to the current players that somebody new has joined might help. At the moment you have to glimpse their names in the corners of your screen, which is not always immediately obvious. Then at least current players can plan for the change in bot numbers. In the early game in particular this can be the difference between a lane being able to look after itself and bots getting through
