In the Lastest build the notes say

[*]Sun rendering on AMD should look better

Well I guess better is a good way to put it , since I couldn't see it at all before

    Now it looks like

Looks like a serious case of sun spots.

I thought about doing a check in with the description "Fixed sun shader to match AMD rendering on NVidia cards, cuz holy **** it's awesome" but instead I did another pass to try to fix it.

I need to get a box with an AMD card to mess with.

    should look better

Well it does look better since before all you could see was every unit floating in space where the sun now is ;)

Yeah, you guys should certainly have an AMD rig around the office to play with.

I made a comment in-game when I saw the sun and said that somebody was playing World of Goo on it.

Reported this on the tracker but might as well post it here too: I’m no longer getting a black sun in build 49303 and I'm running on a Radeon HD 7870 XT. So something fixed it, at least for me.

Oh? I'm pretty sure that's the build I was running last night and I was getting them on crossfire 7870s. What CCC version are you running? I'm in 13.5 beta, iirc.

Oh, I think most people probably upgraded to a newer version and maybe that broke it. Regardless, it is still an issue for most people, but that's cool that it works for you.

Threaten to break the espresso machine if they don't give you one. Or, you know, some sort of equally antagonistic method of part acquisition.

You know what, I'll leave this one up to you.

I don't actually want one since it breaks Photoshop in lots of weird subtle ways. ;)

Does it? That's interesting. One more reason to wish I had gone with Nvidia, I suppose.

That's odd, my wife has never complained about any differences in Photoshop CS 5 between her AMD/ATI based desktop and her Intel/Nvidia based laptop while doing her graphic design jobs.
