Every time I attempt to hit the play button I get an error. PA.exe - Unable To Locate Component This application has failed to start because d3ddx9_43.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I have not only reinstalled but also I updated the file multiple times tried fix upon fix on my end and i wanted to know if i can do anything about it since all the other programs find it just fine. is it just that this game hates me? Also i wanted to specify that none of the usual fixes like reinstalling directx are working
Probably you tried to reinstall it by other way. It's Microsoft issue. For some reason their stupied installers won't install all d3d9 dll's. So please go and download directx_Jun2010_redist.exe here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=8109 After downloading run it and extract it to empty directory. Now open this directory and run DXSETUP.exe, now game should work.
What is your operation system? Can you please run "DxDiag", press "Save All Information" and then upload "DxDiag.txt" here as attachment?
Are you sure you got latest GPU drivers installed? You might download them here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/w ... sta64.aspx But actually ATI Radeon HD 4200 is really old and slow GPU. I don't think game will be playable even if it's runs.
surprisingly all of my games are running great i own a lot of games like this and they run better than mt friends. but i did just update my drivers and it didn't work.
It's because PA is very new PC game, it's seems simple, but engine use latest technologies and it's need more VRAM than usual game ported from consoles. Also it's alpha version, there is no optimizations of any kind. But anyway if your issue still the same it's probably not (!) related to the PA, it's Windows bug. So I doubt developers might fix it in future, probably only if they disable directx requirement completely. You have same d3dx9_43.dll error? Please open your C:\Windows\System32, sort it and try to manually find D3DX9_43.dll file. If you may not see that file here it that's mean DirectX9 isn't installed correct, try to reinstall it and check for same issue over internet. So please try to unpack DirectX redist manually to system32 or even game folder where PA.exe stored.
