Since metal planets will have reactivable tech, I have thought of ideas for uses.

Advanced fusion reactor cores: produces a awesome amount of energy to power an entire army or other energy hungry buildings or tech.

Advanced metal makers: makes huge amounts of metal, but would each need a fore mentioned reactor core to power, but good if you are cornered on the metal planet itself or you don't want to damage the planet when rebuilding it.

Planetary defense guns: use the point defense guns to "discourage" invaders, will be unable to take down on an entire invading force on its own, but able to bring down the number of attacking ships to make things easier.

Super laser: Its not Planetary Annihilation without an awesome planet-destroying laser, will need full power of reactor cores to fire, adjustable laser power settings to change power of shot.

Energy/metal storage: use storage bays to store materials

Launch bays: use these to launch orbital units

There is also an idea where there is visual damage to repair such as a broken power cable between the reactor core and the super laser which need a large amount of metal and energy to repair.

These are just a few ideas of uses for those metal planets, so put in your own ideas and help shape the game.

I was actually wondering wether metal planets would even have multiple uses, or for that fact multiple weaponry. Or if they came in varying sizes which could cause them to carry a bigger payload. But as for now, we just don't know... :p

I personally like the idea of it being a giant metal maker. You could reactivate it and watch as the planet uses it self up in a sense, it turns itself in metal and uses it self up till it implodes for balance reasons, just so your army doesnt get a huge resource advantage over the other, the metal bonus only lasts for a certain amount of time and then implodes.
