I just got into my first game and quickly realized that my comp is not going to like PA (at least alpha) very well without a GPU upgrade (possibly ram as well.) It runs pretty choppy and although it is to be expected in alpha I was wondering what sort of fps others are seeing with their comps. Please try to stay relatively on topic and post your specs, and performance evaluations.

    Cheers!

    P.S. STILL LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

    i7 920 @ 2.66
    6gb ddr3 clocked at 1600
    GTX 275

Update: Seems to have a bit of a memory leak as well at 90% usage at low setting with 6gb ram lol.

Solid high 50s low 60s fps on "uber" gfx settings with the equiptment in my signature. I'm gonna keep my rig info there, just so I don't have to copy/paste/remember it

    Tip: For NVIDIA GPU users
May not work on old cards but did work on my machine with a GeForce GT 540M GPU.

To bring up your frame rate and make the game a load more playable.

    First:
    Close the game.

    Then:
Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel
Then "Manage 3D Settings" (under "3D Settings")
    Then "Program Settings" Tab
    Select the program "pa.exe" -
if pa.exe is not in that list:
Click the "Add" Button an "Add" Window will appear, Select that icon that you probably have seen before with "PA" next to it -
if "PA" or pa.exe is not in that list:
    Then Click the "browse" button

Then: go to the Planetary Annihilation Folder [The default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Planetary Annihilation\PA"]
and Select that icon that you probably have seen before with "PA" [the file pa.exe] next to it.

Now you should have that cool "PA" icon with its path next to it under the words "1. Select a program to customize:"
If you do Click the Pull down menu under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" and click on "High-performance NVIDIA processor"

    Now try playing the game.

It flip-flops between smooth and choppy, with some very long hangs. I'm of course running "Uber" settings.

    Specs as follows:
    Intel Core i7 980x 3.33ghz
    12gb 1600mhz DDR3 RAM
3x Nvidia GTX 480s in SLI (Though only 1 would be used at the moment, no SLI profile)

All in all, not bad for an alpha.

It runs silky smooth on my box at max detail settings.

AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
2x ATI Radeon 5770's in CrossfireX
    8 gigs of DDR3 1333
    64 bit Windows 7

Those still hold good performance 4 years after release? I guess crossfire is darn effective. I've been thinking of getting another 7870 to crossfire on my current one, in the hopes of future proofing myself for the next five years.

    I run some stupfh:
    AMD Phenom II X4 980
    16.0GB RAM
    Radeon HD 7870

Game is perfectly smooth at 'uber' settings, until it decides it doesn't want to be anymore. Probably something to do with all of my RAM, and the memory leak.

It should be noted my performance increased a little with the latest build. Wierd slowdown bug that is fixed by resizing window however

    Core i7-2630QM (3GHz quad core), 8GB RAM, Nvidia GT540M w/ Optimus, 1920x1080 display.
I'm getting about 20-40 fps with low quality settings + no shadows. Running game gives laptop the ability to cause housefires.
