I fixed mine as well i downloaded the driver from here http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx then on the right it says "Automatically Detect and Install" and under it says download now then download it that worked for me
I downloaded the launcher and installed it; when I click play, it pops up and says that PA has stopped working. I have an AMD Radeon HD 4770 and have updated the driver from AMD's website.
IGNORE ME: Turns out audio wasn't plugged in and this caused it to crash? Anyway, working now! I'm seeing the same issue on an NVidia card, Win7 x64. app compat: http://pastebin.com/GxJe9DCF DxDiag: http://pastebin.com/7sKhTdwr DxDiag x64: http://pastebin.com/7Yh48sAw Exception Code: 0xC0000005 Exception info: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Just as a heads up - My notebook has an Intel integrated and a GT540M (NVidia) Same issue occurs if you attempt to boot PA with the intel . Took me 4 attempts to realise it was using the wrong one!. Asus N53SV.
Looks like we're now on the 49167 build, but I'm having a very similar problem. I don't get a stopped working, but instead "unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" I've updated my drivers, made sure that d3dx_43, or whatever is installed (that was my initial problem), and done the VC++ redistributable. I'm running Win7 Pro 64bit, and an ATI Radeon HD4850. Attached is my dxdiag if anyone is interested. I will say that my system might be kind of an oddball. In addition to technically having two video cards (onboard is disabled near as I can tell as it doesn't appear in devmgmt), I also have something like three sound cards. The onboard one, the one HDMI on my ATI card (though it doesn't actually have HDMI, so I don't know what's up with that), and the Creative X-Fi Forte. Though dxdiag lists 4 sound tabs. I'm open to suggestions. Though I won't be surprised if my setup is just causing a host of confusion.
i'm having the same issue game crashes once i hit the play button C my dx file. What worked for me was actually installing the game on the C: drive like it ask for which I normally don't do since i have a SSD for just booting. I use another drive for games, seems this game doesn't like that something to keep in mind.
I have a top of the line ASUS I7, quadcore, 8 gb.... However, I am running Windows 8. Could it be that PA is not compatible with Windows 8?
I'm have the same issue, first time downloading the client, the launcher works but after hitting Play PA.exe crashes. Intel Core Duo CPU T6600 2.20GHz, 4gb ram, Windows 7 64bit
I'm having the same issues. Game won't launch after I hit play. Here are my specs. Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Processor: Intel Core2 Extreme CPU X9100 3.1GHz Memory: 8gbs RAM Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 X2 (latest drivers)
Having same issue. Once I click 'play' the game is showing a windows program error immediately and a can't resolve one 3-4 seconds later. Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit 4.00gb RAM Intel(R) Core (TM) Duo CPU @ 2.13GHz ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 Drivers are up to date, as is DirectX All ideas welcomed.
Almost the same issue but withouth a stopped working message viewtopic.php?f=71&t=47041&p=735810#p735810
Turns out I was still missing part of directx. Install using this package, and see if that helps. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=8109#
We are keeping an eye on this thread, by the way. Just won't be a lot we can do til Monday. Besides drivers, just make sure your drivers are up to date, that if you have embedded video your system is using the correct location, etc. It may also be worth it to move the PALauncher.exe to a new location and see if that helps. If you're running out of Program Files, you may run into some windows escalation issues we haven't seen in the office yet. Keep posting your findings, and especially if you find a common fault in why it won't launch.
What I did so far: -Installed PA on my programs HDD -> Not working -Updating DX -> Was told it is up2date but updated anyway -> Not working -Deleted PA from my Programms HDD and installed it again on my SSD -> Not working -Updated Video Drivers -> Not working -Installed DX by using lollybombs link, deleted PA, installed it again -> Not working Maybe I missed something :/ Again my rig, if it helps tracking this down: Asus P8P67 Pro Rev3.1 Intel Core i5 2500K Gigabyte GeForce GTX670 Windforce3X 2GB 16 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 PA was installed first on a Samsung HD501LJ HDD and later been tested on an OCZ Vertex3 Max IOPS
