You mean to tell me some random people got free keys from watching a poorly-publicized stream BEFORE everyone who paid up got theirs? If so, I might be slightly disgruntled.

Ah god damn missed out there then haha *cries*

I can be patient but If I don't get an Alpha key before it hits Steam then I think I have a right to get a bit miffed as a backer/pre-order cust. Until then I will lurk and keep relaxed.

I believe they checked somehow so that the ones receiving the key was backers and not just random people (or maybe they just asked, i dont realy know).

But yea they got their keys before their peers.

Not realy a big deal to be honest, i mean the whole reason for the alpha is to test things, and there werent enof people online to do that.

If they were backers, I won't care. That makes sense and I'm already aware of somebody who got a bit of special treatment in that regard. Those who contribute and help out more certainly deserve it. However, if they weren't backers, I'm going to have to cry fowl.

I understand their reasoning sort-of, but that.. is almost extremely frustrating. I'm a Kickstarter Backer that gave them $100, only for some random guy to get an Alpha Key for free before I even get my own?

It was around 20, max. I was lucky enough to wake up early and get one :) But many people will get one today for sure.

Read my post 2 posts above yours, i belive they checked somehow so that the ones that was given keys were backers.

So not freebie keys, just earlier then they should have gotten one. (I should have made that clear for starters, i apologize.)

It is their product and they are free to distribute it as they like. You own a copy of the product. As long as they deliver that copy, they can distribute remaining copies as they see fit. Being a backer guarantees you copy at whatever level you backed, but it doesn't guarantee you exclusive access.

Sure, they can distribute it as they like, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't have been entirely unfair. Legally correct, morally ambiguous.

But it doesn't matter because it has been cleared up. No harm done!

As I understand it, those who were given keys were simply being helpful pointing out bugs etc.

These people were helping to make the game even better.

They did this for no other reason than to help.

Certainly Uber had no *need* to give them their keys early, but I think that it was entirely reasonable that they did.
