Anyone come across actual hackers during gameplay? Im not the best in the world but im not terrible either and ive put a lot of time into the game. However there are times where i come across people that i just can get to die. If there is a player Taking more bullets than others with that class, taking into account armor and health endorsements, your own endorsements that effect damage outputs, over shields on the other play and the experience you have had in how much shooting it takes to kill others of that same class has it ever just seems like someone is suspiciously difficult to take down or can hit you no matter how much your moving and inside bot cover? Ive not researched the poential of douche bags to hack the game and give themselves unfair advantages outside of any normal tricks or glitches. Anyone actually seen circumstances where it must be the case?
I take this frame of mind: If there is doubt, its not hacking and just lag. Why hack unless you're going to make it so you utterly dominate? Why cheat unless you're going to absolutely ensure victory? In Halo 2, if you got hacked, you KNEW it. They floated in the air with a fully automatic, auto-aimed BR. You spawned, died immediately, spawned, died immediately. Post game stats would show 50 Sniper headshots. If you 'just can't seem to kill them' but you're damaging them, then its just connection issues. Since there is no way to check pings, you can only guess. Now, I've run into suspicious circumstances, where as soon as I'd be fighting anyone it would get VERY laggy, and then when i was away from the enemy players it'd be fine, but I can't attribute that 100% to vile deeds.
All the times I might have experienced hacking I'm pretty sure were just lag-related glitches. Someone becoming invincible with zero in the health bar, someone that could grapple you in midair (And I mean the ENTIRE animation was in midair, not just initiating in midair then moving to the ground), Someone who could escape a grapple halfway though without taking damage, etc.
I would think it was lag if it was a similar situation against all opposing pros in that same match. Sometimes the lag is incredibly obvious, say with the gunner or the tank where the visuals are showing hit detection sparks on the enemy pro but there is no health bar coming up showing damage. Im talking instances where there is damage but with one or two specific enemy pros in a match they seem to take much more damage than the others. Ive even seen it where a support didnt have armor endorsements at all and live through an entire torch gun clip and still not burn to death without over shield or being healed by another support or a lvl 3 firebase.
The Jetgun is notorious for its hit detection issues in moderate or higher lag. If this is what the problem is, its definitely not hacking :/
When I get host, P.S The game has no host migration because of lag (I strongly think) . Maybe this could be in a future update.
All of these things sound like lag to me. Also, when a player's health is in red they get a defense boost until they die or recover health. So sometimes if you're at an extreme distance from an enemy and they don't seem to go down when you're just nicking them with stray bullets, that defense boost may be *JUST* enough to save them
It's not so much a Defense boost as it is a play on the numbers. Paraphrased from one of the developers (grabbed from someone else's post): "If we think it should take 4 shots to kill someone with 100 health, how much should each shot do? The obvious answer is 25 since 25 times 4 = 100. However, I think the answer is 33. This way, there will be many times you escape with 1 HP which creates more excitement of 'Whoa, I barely survived'." Taking this into account, after the enemy escapes, and your bullets still nick them, they could still be under that damage threshold that results from the number play (alternatively, they could be recovering health and your nagging bullets interrupt it just as it starts).
I think if there were hackers in MNC the people on this forum would know about it, it such a small community, the xbox side anyway.
Bullet weapons in this game lose damaging power at range. If you're shooting them at an "extreme distance", then anything that connects is going to do minuscule damage.
Meh. I like saying it's a defense bonus instead. I always assumed that went without saying. Like, the difference in effectiveness between bullets and explosives against specific targets. As in, so glaringly obvious it's like the difference between a slim and Pitgirl.
The only hackers I've come accross are leaderboard/protag ones, and a guy who had a Jackbot for prestiege. v toad v or something
There was a match about a week ago I raged so hard, I don't think it was a hack but an assassin literally went into our base the model glitched and they rose about 2 ft off the ground. They could not move or die but they could shoot shurikens, omfg the assassin was the reason they won. In overtime she just sat there shooting shurikens at the moneyball.
I saw this same thing happen to an assault once. Problem is the guy also had god aim all of a sudden after having a 1-7 k/d by that time. I wonder if he even had control or turned into some sort pro turret bug.
