Yeah, it's just a game. There's nothing wrong with taking some extra time.

The devs have families too. Go home, hang out with your loved ones, get some rest, etc.

Tooooooo be totally honest, it doesn't matter if alpha is this week or next week or the week after that. (that is 2 weeks in addition to this Saturday. Which means any time after that, we start riots and such.) It is in fact the alpha, and the first chance most of us will have to touch greatness. And if we have to wait a few extra days for stability to be up solid. Then why not wait, even though some people may have "paid for alpha" Keep in mind what you really gave up your money for was to support the game which you want to be become a reality. Of course my reason was I want to name a planet but that is totally irrelevant. :D

But that was my two cents, as we all wait with baited breath.

    Cheers!

Oh good god! ... To call in sick or not to call in sick... :(

Being the eternal pessimist (realist), I suppose I will go to work and then "need to go home because I am not feeling so good" if my key shows up...

Quite seriously, if you're not actually sick, taking the day off to watch a new piece of software crash might not be the most productive choice. :)

That's another way of what I was trying to say earlier.

Or, head in late, because it's beyond 10pm and your guys will still in the office?

Might I suggest you do that, get it releasable. Then go home early, crack open a few beers, relax, and catch up on your sleep-debts.

Then come in the morning after and read the bug-reports that are coming in.

I have to say as a robotics engineering major I know how you guys at Uber feel. Staying up late at the lab the night before we have to present our robot, then going in early the next day to try to iron out the fixable (because damn Vex controllers and their well-documented but not fixed in any way connection drops) bugs in the autonomous.

Good luck, and I eagerly await helping find more bugs!

Speaking from experience, all flavours of engineering are exactly like that. I rue the day where I have to pull an all-nighter at work.

Just want to say we all appreciate what you guys are doing. Pouring all your energy into this, sacrificing time with family/friends, etc, just for this game. Much love to you all!
