Are the patches going to be full downloads, or is your distribution system set up to only require grabbing deltas?

In most cases, it should do a differential patch, not a full download.

99% of the bugs are not obvious and difficult, if not impossible, to detect by normal testing.

In that case, I wonder if the roll-out should be handled in such a way as to make the client download frenzy less spiky. I would be willing to download a client that is broken (i.e. crashes without me getting into game) if that meant that when the fix was applied, I could grab it quickly. That would be preferable to having download issues with a fully functional client (i.e. after the current major crash bugs are finished).

I doubt downloading is going to be an issue as it's sitting on a CDN.

The launcher itself does file-by-file updating using deltas. If we don't change a file it won't have to patch anything if you already have it. Most updates will be really small.

    Music to my ears.

This week is terrible for me though; PA, Eve expansion, sporting finals. Oh, and full time work too.

Honestly I'm a bit disturbed at the idea of people taking time off to play the alpha.

Thankfully today is my day off, I can't wait to see the game. :3

People who kickstarted and were at the 140$ tier should see a key today right? :D

It's been almost over a year now since that time.

Not many sick days saved up: started new jerb a month ago.

Still, I can hang about on these forums while I work.

Don't feel too bad. At the moment I am still looking for a full time job.

So if you want me to not take off time to play the alpha then I would appreciate a job offer.

You shouldn't be, these are the same people that dropped 90-10000$ on an idea you pitched. I think a lot of us are just excited to see anything resembling the fruits of your labor. You've been doing the work, and we've been watching. Now it's our turn to take a whack at the very beginnings of what you pitched, and we're excited.

We're excited about the bugs, the crashes, the whole thing. We're excited to finally have our hands on something, even if it's the most rudimentary possible iteration of the product we backed.

    Thanks for your patience. :)

Imagine if you had been waiting all this time, and tomorrow you got to see the engine for the first time. I don't it is that hard of a leap to make. If I were you I would take it as a complement.

I'm glad that they are not overconfident developers.
That often leads to downfall, it's far better to be underconfident.
It leads to greater achievements, pushing themselves to new heights.
