PA for steam

If I understood correctly, people who are earlybakers or people who pre-ordered will be given the option to get the game for steam.
1. Will there be any difference between people who use steam or not?
2. Will the updates come at the same time or not?
3. I pre-ordered the 90$ edition. Will the bonuses I recived be applied on steam or not?
I am asking this to see what is my best option.

No, everybody will play on same UberNet servers. Probably on Steam you might get some achievements or cloud integration, e.g Steamworks services.

But if you choose Steam you may only run game though your Steam account, DRM-free version allow to play on UberNet without Steam.

I didn't see any official statement, but there is bunch of reasons why it's will be like that... PA is multiplayer game, so everybody need to have latest versions or it won't work.

Your bonuses will be connected to your UberNet account, no mater you use Steam or not.

I'm prefer non-Steam version because I don't want to get extra dependencies.

I'd love an official word on how this will work. If I wanna play offline with my own server, without logging in to uber, ect, would i have access to the extra commanders?

Obviously this doesn't really apply till retail release, but i am curious!

No, there will be singleplayer also. Where did you get the idea of it be only multiplayer?

I don't mean it's will be multiplayer-only, but for alpha and beta it's will be online-only at least. Both (steam and non-steam) players will play on same servers, so there is no way to keep different client versions.

I don't think Uber ever think about that yet.

But as an idea it's could be like that: to get these commanders you may need to connect UberNet at least once, and then game client activate special content you have. So next time you just run game and cached information about your content will be used, so no additional connection required.

This always online thing reminds me of Xbox one. But it's alpha, so I guess it'll do.

I think it's already confirmed that Xbox One only need internet connection once a day. Anyway I don't care about consoles.

Will the download be availdable through the PA website or will we get a link?

Neither am I. I'll probably just wait a while and look how the UberNet integration turns out. There is no deadline as far as I know so I won't do anything hasty.

You will get an email with detailed instructions. You will most likely get a link to a launcher app that will download and install the game.

I thought it was confirmed we were getting a key?

Both. The launcher makes sure your files are up to date and stuff. The key is just to make sure you get the stuff associated with your account like alpha access.
