So the Office Season final just aired awhile ago, and I gotta say it ended pretty well...

What did anyone else who watched it think?

(No spoiler tag thing in the title because its pretty obvious from just reading it ;))

Isn't The Office that show with Ricky Gervais?
    Because I hate him.

more popular over here than the UK version, which is rare. Usually when a remake is made it can't compare.

(though I confess to watching both Being Humans >_>)

Yeah Steve Carell rules! and the original office (UK) wasnt a really big show, when they made an US remake it became really huge and grew after each season.

I can't watch the UK being humans, maybe it's because I started with US. It just looks too shitty too me?

Same with Skins, the UK version rules, I started with the UK. When the US did a remake (after about 3 or 4 seasons in the UK) of season 1 it sucked and got really bad reviews, it isn't produced anymore last time I looked.

From what I know about the original Skins, you'd have to tone down pretty much everything in that series to allow it to be on US television. No wonder it flopped.

    Really?
I find US versions of UK shows tend to look just really fake. Certain things work in a British setting that just don't work in an American one. The adverts for Being Human US reek of that; even though I never really watched the UK one, the US just screams cheap ripoff, even though it's the same show (sorta). There was also a Shameless US version which looked sh*t: the show worked in the UK because there's a big scene of "scummy lazy poor people" who are so outrageous that they're funny to watch, in a very british way I can't describe well. In the US version, it just looks wrong: for one, they all look too good-looking for the part.
On the flipside, I find Sitcoms only really work when they're American. I've yet to see one that isn't just 100% cringe from the UK. Same applies with cartoons for the most part.

They're all quite old, and two of those are my fav british shows ever (Father Ted and IT Crowd. I know Irish people very closely which makes Ted even better)

Weirdly I'd not thought of them as sitcoms, huh.

I like the US version of Being Human just as much as the UK version. Every now and then I grow tired of all the main characters being killed off of shows. You can tell they just worked the show to kill them off because they or the creators wanted them to move on and not for the sake of the story.

and I may have not given it enough of a chance, but I found It Crowd really boring.
