We need to have a LAN party at release. Perhaps the Devs would be kind enough to organize/play. Why we should do this: I think it would be really awesome after we have worked to polish this gem to all meet up and play together and be social. Where: Seattle so more devs will attend. Why the devs would want to take the time to do this: MONEY, lots of money, minecon did it and raked in the dough. Your backers have already coughed up some serious coin, so you know your not dealing with some broke hobos. I'm betting i'm not the only person willing to get on a plane fly to Seattle, and pay for a ticket to this amazing event. So what do you think Jon?
Now just somebody needs to invent teleportation-machines so we can all meet up. Cause flying around the world just for LAN is a bit of overkill. :S
It would be really cool to have a big launch party LAN, but that would probably be a little too much to put on Uber, after all they will be finishing up a long year of hard work. Would be really fun though, if some other event organizer in the gaming scene could organize something that would be awesome.
People do it all the time. See notable events. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LAN_party But to be fair to your point. Minecon was held first in the US, then in the EU the next year.
I won't come and fly in to do this. But if it happens, I would try and do what I can to do a road trip to attend this. After all I think it would be AWESOME!
a lan party without flying to other places would be cool. somebody should provide a service that allows that x)
