I was wondering if they are going to implement rally points like in starcraft 2, were you and hold shift and click multiple places and your unit would move to each set rally point. i could be quite useful.
Rally points more describe a final location for units to gather. What you are describing sounds like order queueing. In Total Annihilation, you could give your units queues of not only movement, but attack, patrol, and build orders, and I believe I read that it is planned for this game as well. There was also a suggestion of being able to add an order to the front of the queue so that you don't have to start the whole queue over again if you forgot something.
Which, it should be noted, was before the original StarCraft was released. I felt like TA was a case of "technically superior product beats competitor to market, but competitor wins anyway ". Such a shame.
Actually, I believe TA had rally points because you could queue a move location for a factory and the units it produced would travel there soon as they were built. It has been a while since I played TA but that seems to be correct.
Personally I would like to see the rally points a bit more advanced, like being able to place a rally point on a unit like the commander, or going to a unit cannon and then getting fire off onto another planet.
This would be awesome. I hated putting together 30+ orders, just to realize I forgot to build the metal extractor first...
I can't believe that this is even a discussion xD Rally points have been in all the previous games, so why wouldn't they have them in PA?
I would like to see new units get into formations/groups automatically. So you select the rally point and then select the already existing formation/group. It's one less thing to manage in a big army.
