can we get some more details on the alpha prioritization. I'm curious because i was a $40 backer but i upgraded for alpha access, so i want to know if that effects anything
What Neutrino was talking about is that if you want until the last week of the alpha to upgrade to try and get it, there's no guarantee you will get in or be processed in time, if you've already upgraded you should be fine, you just might not get in on Day 1 of the Alpha. Mike
Do Kickstarter backers have preference over Pre-orderers? I'd love to have given more money than my Kickstarter pledge... but your store won't let me Uber When are you "rolling out" that upgrade page for the Early Backers?
As Elitist as it sounds, yes they should, the KS backers are teh ones that assumed all teh "risks" and originally made all this possible. Mike
To quote that, what about kickstarter backers who paid 40-50 then upgraded in the store later to the Galactic level for Alpha access. It seems they fit into both groups, i am one of them and i know it sounds dumb but i do feel that since i did bother backing the kickstarter i should get it before the straight preorders, but i also feel those who got alpha access in the kickstarter should get it before me.
But they're still KS backers, the act of upgrading shouldn't make them not KS backers anymore, even then Upgraded KS Backers are still/should be completely different from Pre-Orders. Mike
I'm guessing that there will be some practical issues when the alpha is first released, so many things that has to fit together, it's only wise to let a small group of people (around 100 if you count 1000$+ backers) try out the alpha before the rest of the bunch (5000-10000?) gains access. After all, it's much easier for Uber to handle a 100 error reports than 10000... I'm guessing Uber doesn't really have a schedule for letting people in on the alpha, they will rather just take it as it comes and let people in as things stabilize. And I honestly think it's kinda fair that early/high backers get a head start, as long as it isn't too long of a wait for the rest of us.
I agree that it shouldn't be drawn out unnecessarily. If everything is working for those top 10% there should be as little delay as possible rolling out the Alpha for us poorer folk.
Please don't let this turn into a "who's better" club, but Mike's reasoning is why. Our early backers are literally the people who helped turn this from an idea into a reality. If you upgraded as an early backer, you will still be treated like and early backer. Most of this conversation should probably take place in Neutrino's thread over in general. And we have every intent, and desire, to roll out the alpha to everyone as quickly as we can, without breaking the world.
I don't think I'm 'better' than someone who gave more money as a pre-order over my Kickstarter pledge. I think I'm better for entirely different reasons
Lol. Ok, sorry i was just worried because i upgraded after the kickstarter had ended, but i still backed. Anyway i think this was cleared up now.
I allow you to break the world if it speeds up development. We can all miss the apocalypse together while playing PA.
Does this confirm that i as a 150 USD KS backer will get the alpha before an 250 USD pre-orderer? EDIT: found my answer in this thread http://forums.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=45498
