Explosion at Boston race

Anyone else turn on the news to see that being reported?

an explosion that just so happens to be at the finish line of a marathon? my money is on placed bomb

I'm sure unluckier things have happened before, but yeah its most likely not random.



Edit: I overheard my mom saying something about the Hotel it blew up in / near by being a Chinese one, and I think I heard her say that she thinks it may have something to do with Korea and China(?)

Given that the police found a third device and detonated it? Placed bomb.

First explosion was under the doorway of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, about 200~ feet from the finish line.
Second explosion was on the sidewalk near the Lenox Hotel, with people allegedly seeing a "trash can explode"

A third "explosion" an hour later was seen at the JFK Library, setting fire to it. First thought was an electrical fire, but black smoke makes an electrical fire not.

"Arab" Man seen leaving a Yellow Penske truck trying to board a plane out of LaGuardia was taken into investigation in relation to a similar truck trying to enter the Marathon earlier that day, then "speeding" away after denied entry.

The fact that 3 "bombs" went off within hours of each other in a big event like the Marathon (minus the fact 2 other "bombs were found) and that the following Press Conference's signal was hijacked with the use of Short-Wave microwave signals suggest the wrong-doings of a criminal organization and not the work of one/two deranged lunatics randomly setting bombs off.

I'm not convinced it was a bomb, but I do think it was an intentional explosion.

Isn't a bomb a controlled intentional explosion....

I'm thinking it was probably a rigged gas explosion or something like it. It's easier to conceal the intent with such an explosion and you don't have to smuggle anything in.

My thoughts go out to anyone affected by this.

I read something about the bombs being some shrapnel charges filled with metal balls.

The bombs were pressure cookers with ball bearings, nails, screws and BB's placed in them. It's said the same type of bomb was used in the botch NYC car bombing.

You're not going to change the mindset of anyone making jokes about this stuff. Sometimes its a way of coping, other times they're just dicks.
Pisses me off that people in the world are so goddamn warped that they feel they have to do stuff like this. Im more inclined to believe it was domestic and not a big Islamist group; mostly just a gut feeling, and I imagine if it was them they'd be pushing each other to be first to take credit.
This and all the shootings makes it really hard to want to move to the US.
