Timeline of "Backers Only" updates

I only come here to check for exciting Backers Only updates, really, since I barely play RTS games and haven't much to contribute to discussions*. I made a timeline showing each Backers Only update, to see if there was a pattern, and it seems like there's an update generally every 2 weeks+2/3 days, so I'm predicting the next update will be on the 19th of April, and feature more detailed ships or planes, with water/flying effects. Just a guess.

Alpha on 1 June?

Any delay in updates from this point on could be to better align an update/announcement with an alpha release.

Indeed, I am actually hoping for some sort of announcement on the alpha soon.

I think you three are getting your hopes up. I'd be happy with:

• Animation details,
• A dozen fully textured units, showing progression from concept to final pass,
• One of the Backer Commanders, from concept to completed pass,
• Detailed systems beyond the economy system, Such as the Commander Abilities, Balance Goals
• More updates on Planetary Gameplay.

The Alpha isn't all that matters at this stage IMO. And, honestly I think it would be dangerous to release it with so little information on the table for the Backers to understand what the hell it is they are looking at.

If I might be so bold... I'd actually like a partial design document before I get anywhere close to the Alpha. I what to know what it was Uber wanted to implement and then see how they tried to realise that vision.

I want more Information... COLD, HARD Information at this stage.

PS: What I'm really excited about is when we're reaching the end of Alpha and we start talking about Lore.

That said, yes, I would absolutely love pretty much anything they give us. They said at several instances that as you develop a game, you go from not enough information to release to the public to eventually having too much information to release to the public. Of course, there's a nice middle ground. I certainly don't think we've reached that middle ground yet, and an alpha before we reach that middle ground would probably be devoid of a lot of things that will be important in the final game.

I'd be happy with info as long as it's concrete info. Planet biome concepts are nice but barely count >.>

It would be nice to have some new information. But I'm sure as Science not demanding it from the Devs yet.

I'm happy knowing that the Devs are working SO hard that they had to delay the Livestream so we could see something more polished... rather than something only half-implemented or barely conceived.

We talked about something we could have done that was backers only in relation to the Friday Livestream, but in this case, it's just not practical. We'd spend more time prepping something that was "backer" ready rather than actually continuing work on the build. So it was an easy decision. Often, the two can work together, but not in this case.

just focus on getting the alpha up, I can live with only a small update once a month if it speeds up development a bit. Even though I really hope that we won't have to wait "months" for the alpha anymore.

Geez. You guys have such a one track mind.
Lay off Uber and let them do things at the pace they feel delivers best the results.
