I was listening to www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSLPH9d-jsI and I was thinking.. it would be awesome to ask them to make a track or 2 for PA... So instead of them making tracks of PA afterwards, their tracks actualy get to be used ingame
If it's already on Youtube then what is the point of putting the music in game natively? PCs are great at multi tasking things like games, web browsers, and media players. You can even turn off the sound in one program and turn it up in another one. Now perhaps including an MP3/Ogg/whatever player in PA much like how TA had a CD player built in wouldn't be a terrible idea. Then you could create a playlist for combat, another list for building, ect... from your personal music collection. Just running a music player in the background is probably plenty for most people but being able to tie the music to what is happening in the game is always nice. Perhaps someone will be able to write a mod that interacts with a Winamp plugin to achieve this.
You don't get it.. Right now Uberent is making music for PA. My suggestion: ask them to make a track or 2 to be included into PA..
I think this might be a good idea. Quite often I find myself turning the music off in a game and use some music player to play my own music. This is usually only due to getting tired of hearing the same music continuously. (I usually play games like these A LOT!) But if there can be an easy way to change the music in game, I would definitely like it. Even if they do something like make the songs in MP3 or OGG format and allow us to replace the song files with our own music with no problems. (This could be done in Sins of a Solar Empire.) But if they can come up with something more friendly like an auto player where you can easily switch the music without having to deal with changing files names and remembering what those songs were meant for (what triggers the song to be played), that would be AWESOME! I can't make an opinion about the song because I can't listen to it due to a download limit. (You can thank the satellite internet companies for that.) I'll try and listen to it on the weekend at a friends.
Howard is doing just fine. Besides, you can't use just one violin if you are having an Orchestral Score. I expect the music files will be modable, like the rest of the game.
I watched the stream also and was very pleased with the music Howard "showed" us. But that doesn't mean it would be cool to include one or two tracks made by others..
