Couple of guides before you all go through these pages

    Teapots pm guide
    http://forums.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=39337

    and Shammas's pm guide
    http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/991788-monday-night-combat/58087791

Ask a question about pms and we can try and help or discuss some certain things

IE: should the supports firebase at level 3 be used to aid in kills, bots, both, or heal?
meaning if you could put the firebase near a key player to heal would it be better or have it hacked at 3.3 shooting everything and being noticed?

an instance of this would be i was playing support on ammo mule..
I threw my level 3 firebase on the dome so it would help heal players when they fell back to it and shoot players crossing up over the spawn.

    Effective or useless?

    Re: Pm questions

Effective. It is a good spot that is hard to take out without an airstrike, it reduces downtime for the assault and sniper, and covers a retreat if needed. I almost always drop it there late game.

There are variables of course. One is the phase of the game you are in - early game, the assist money from the FB is pretty important to get the cash, but late game unless bots are being pushed in hard it won't be anything more than a healing post. Hack is the last thing I buy.

Also, if your assassin keeps getting paired against the tank and your gunner\sniper can't help take him out due to a good gunner matchup it can be the only thing that keeps her from being run over. I do a similar thing if we are all going to push into the tank lane just in case the sin dies SOMETHING is watching that lane...

A common question is "what does the gunner do with all his money if can't buy juice?". My answer is usually "backup buyer for the anni since he is usually mid. After that, jump pads and turrets".

    Re: Pm questions

Can be useful, could edit the title accordingly so vets can also point out common mistakes without having to be asked.

For instance, last night we had a support who I felt was borderline deliberately doing the wrong thing every time, well before anyone was irritated and even after multiple requests and corrections of what they should be doing.

Supports need the sniper mentality, be effective but be safe and smart with the environment. Countless times our support would take middle jump pad opposition side at LR to goto our gunner and it got him killed every time. Simple and safe correction, take the middle pad toward our side so that you are covered while gathering yourself and getting to the gunner.

Also when ever taking criticism from a vet following a mistake and it is known that you have a mic. Whether it is "ok got it" or even reasoning for what you did and arriving at a conclusion for what to do next time, a response of any kind is a thousand times better than ignoring the situation because then your gunner has no idea what to do, whether stay with you and possibly be lead into situations where you don't heal and get yourself killed, or go about his business simply without a leash

Snipers need to get out of the corners of the maps, move up and help out with ice traps and flak

Assaults need to stop shooting the gunner by themselves when their whole team is alive. It's a waste of time. The only times an assault should attack a gunner is when 1. He doesn't have a leash. 2. Your gunner is initiating a gunfight with theirs 3. You are positive you will finish him off even while he is getting healed. A bomb here and there to keep him out of position is good, but spending too much time focusing on the gunner is a waste when you could be going after the support, sniper, and tank much more quickly and easily

Assassins and tanks need to talk, especially when they die if bots are anywhere NEAR the base. Don't die and assume you will respawn and gets the bots knocking on our door, because then when you get killed or fended off on your respawn the loss is entirely your fault

Gunners in general need to be more aggressive. Most non veteran gunners are too shy about when to move in and make a play or create a trap

The anni is everyone's responsibility, not just the assassin. Assassin or gunner should e making first buy, everyone responsible on buying 2+, and everyone at all times responsible for being aware when its coming up and to get to it

Question; which exploits are considered "ok" in a PM?
The obviously broken ones, like invisible firebase, insta strike, and spawn strikes are not.

But what about stuff like the instant recharge FB pickup, or grappling Bullseye to make him stay longer? I know I almost always do flight spam as assault to fly longer...

Pretty much. Some I have said it to mid match have adjusted and the flow of the game went noticeably more in our favor. Newer people just need to play more PMs and listen to what we have to say so good habits become more natural and fluid and need less reminding

Yep. I was already complaining about that, it is my second biggest thing to fix next to "heal the gunner".

You can see the difference between how many ice traps are relevent when comparing someone like Chron\Juggalo\Shammas who have a great shot and great PM trap placement to Halkakum\Scratchyy\ChocIate, who have a great shot but poor PM trap placement. Heck, even compared to me who only has an average shot but decent trap placement.

    Re: Pm questions

My shot a couple nights ago was flat out miserable from not playing sniper in ages and still managed 30 kills that game thanks to just knowing how to play. The skill set outside of "aim and shoot" is so much mor valuable than people think. Even more valuable than people who think they understand really know. Look at Moneyshot vs Kckzi. Both had a very good shot, but Kckzi IMO plays sniper perfect. Perfect amount of aggression, smart variety of unsuspecting ice traps, flak that does more than finish a hurt player, a complete game changing sniper thanks far more to his skill set outside of aiming.

Newer players who are playing one class but like another should take notice of veteran teammates and opponents to pick up bit by bit on good habits

Ok next question what are the roles of each class in a pm?
Should we be attacking the class we counter or even match ups?

Ie: tank vs tank or let sniper, assault or gunner deal with tank ?
Last night for example I was facing a sniper and a tank in my lane double teaming me. Do I call for help or try to rail gun and product bombs misserably cause the sniper is quick scoping me to death.

    Support?:
    Tank?:
    Gunner?:
    Sniper?:
    Assault?:
    Assassin?:

Also alot of these public match players only know public match things... its hard to break them of the habbits.

I have decided I really hate YouTube. The layout is terrible; I might have to make my own site that just links into it because bandwidth is expensive...

Shammas has a very well written and thorough thread in strategy & tactics that explains all the classes and their roles in PMs

    Re: Pm questions

I admit theres been a few instastrikes by me on ammo mule throwing the air strike underneath the anni dome floor level (basement).. does this count as illegal?

Also ive done this with players on the steel peel glass shooting at the ball on the path ring.
(under the bridge if they are on the glass)

    Re: Pm questions

For Ammo Mule I would say no, because there is a warning beacon - unless you mean the insta strike from the spawn doors, in which case that is a no-no.

On Steel Peel, that one is odd. I would say that an air strike on the elbow would be bad, but the anni is harder - it is how I discovered insta-strikes were even a thing, and it is easy to miss and accidentally do that.

I think it cases like that it comes down to "use your judgement". There aren't that many of us, and we all know when someone is cheating egregiously, and when it is probably an accident (I have made invisible firebases by mistake, as well as accidental insta-strikes).

    Re: Pm questions

No not the spawn doors.. i mean running up to the dome looking down and throwing it under the anni on ammo mule where that path is that goes down to the basement. Ie bullseye is out and everyone is punching him for juice... you toss and air strike under the floor where you can run down and you kill them.

on steel peel for instance someone is juiced on your ring shooting at your ball and your the only one whos near them to stop them as support. Running around the side to stop them will be too late but an air strike under the path bridge would save the game.

I dont think doing it on grenade 3 etc is not fair nor sitting in the middle of steel peel doing it or the bot spawn on the bridge where the jump pad is and people camp (by your spawn when you jump to the top)

    question:

Money ball turrets are destroyed.... we got an assassin who kills level 3 rockets the second we build them. Should we build shavice level 3's or something else?? or just leave them empty ?

Also should the support take a second to hack these or their firebase or keep running and healing people?

(im just asking these cause most people don't know the outcome and its a common problem)

A: Don't build turrets, they are just going to build juice for the Assassin if they are that aggressive and doing that to level 3 rockets. You have other adjustments to make if they are getting that close - better to move the tank to that lane and if needed also have the sniper drop an ice trap or two to get some room to breath.

A: It depends; I always value players over A.I., but some turret positions only work if they are hacked. If I had to pick a "always do this" answer I would heal people.

    I don't think I've ever seen a level 3 rocket and a level 3 ice turret, both hacked 3.3

Maybe put a firebase just for extra coverage, or in an area to split the waves of bots, that way the 3.3 rocket could get them all?

I would like to see what effect a level 3 ice turret could have, if any.

Maybe I'm over hyping/thinking the whole ice turret thing.

3.3 would cover up to farthest nub of the 3 ... if it was shavice nearest anni it covers almost mid... the area with the most traffic would cripple the assassin ... I wouldn't do it since it could be level three hacked and if you hde behind it as shield could end the game. Also free juice to assassin... if tank was playing def or sniper w ice traps it could be good
